If you leave the kitchen and your dog/cat is still in there chilling, do you turn off the light?

I always feel rude.

Their eyesight is better and I don't trust cats. I imagine they would stick a paw out and trip you down the stairs if you gave them the advantage of darkness.

I turn the light off, because he will be right behind me as I leave the kitchen.

You Dont Need to Know, right now

When I leave the kitchen, I ask the dog politely if he's coming with me. If he ignores me, I tell him 'well, I'm turning the light off', give him a few more seconds to ignore me some more, then I turn the light off. Serves him right if he has to sit in the dark!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

My cat used to wait until I could see her pee on my bed when she was annoyed with me. Perhaps it's because I used to turn off the light?

My dog is banished from the upstairs after peeing on the bed, while I was in it.

My cat once waited until I got into bed, settled down and turned out the light.

Off the grid

I feel rude when I have to turn the light on in the night, and my hamster is in the room.

Poor nocturnal fuzzbutt.

"Bright light, bright light, argghhhHHH IT BURNS!"

I don't care what the dog thinks until she stops peeing on the carpet.

I pay the bills, so feel no obligation to leave lights on for the hound. He follows me everywhere anyway, which is a bit annoying to be honest.

A friend sent me a DVD of fish swimming to leave on for the cat when I went to work. I'm sure I've still got it somewhere if you want it.

I tried one once but he wasn't interested! But he was young at the time, I might try it again at some point, but I think he lacks the attention span

Mine does that too. He bursts in when i'm sat on the loo like he fears i'm about to be mugged. He could be fast asleep next to me on sofa but as soon as i move to get up he's alert and following me.

If a guide dog has their harness on no don't pet them if the harness hand is down and on a lead you can ask if you can pet them. Most owners will say yes if the dogs not working.

Annoying? I'll tell you what's annoying. A dog wearing a buster collar following you around and bashing you on the back of the legs with it, that's annoying.

Our cats are living in one of our houses alone at the moment as we are having some work done on it and the insurance company has re housed us whilst it is being done. So I go around twice a day to feed them, or one of the kids does ..... I dont leave anything on for them as they are often more outside than in. They are having the run of the place and putting weight on. I feel like we wont be welcome back when the work is complete and we will feel like lodgers in our own home
