I think there's a lack of categories which leads to a poor description of one's own body type.
Best way is to look at photo's and make your own opinion. |

I think it's difficult to pigeonhole the wide spectrum of body types into five or six neat categories. I've listed myself as "Athletic", but I'm uncomfortable with the label. I don't think it's a good fit. It seems to suggest a more slender frame than mine. Then again, neither is "Large", which is pretty much a polite way of saying "Fat". "Average"? Nah - too nondescript. Doesn't actually mean anything! |

"Don't think you need a six pack to be atherletic"
Athletic to me means being physically fit and toned, not necessarily a six pack but certainly not a party 7

I put myself down as athletic because that's how I feel.
But it's totally subjective because most men I know have far larger muscles than me, can run faster/further, etc. |

Athletic has a wide spectrum of body types... From the gym bunnies to the rugby type build. I just look at the pics ( if they have them) rather than what body type the say they have |

"Lots of athletic bodies on here (shot put and darts is athletic yes?)
I actually regretted that I don't usual do 'bitchy'.....lack of sleep"
No, very funny! Made me think of the Not the Nine O'Clock News beer drinking commentary sketch. |

Just go by the pics. I describe myself as athletic, but I'm certainly not ripped/6 pack. More muscular with padding, but that's not an option. Plus I am way above average fitness for my age, hence athletic..who really cares, use the pics? |

It's a pity that the definition of athlete isn't just one body type.
And that the UK average is becoming more overweight. The average today is rather different to ten years ago.
What I have seen with photos is how someone's body shape can vary enormously in a short space of time. Though some upload photos when they were more in their prime
