Not talking all time classics, just films which you've seen which are probably under the radar?
I'll name four:
Fallen (Denzil Washington)
The Game (Michael Douglas and Sean Penn)
Le Visiteurs (Jean Reno - the French version is funny as fuck)
The Big Blue (Jean Reno - French, again)
Go! |

Subway is a bit of a cult classic. I absolutely loved it.
I'm going to add:
The cat and canary.
A Bob Hope horror comedy with a great atmosphere.
Leningrad Cowboys Go America
Finish film, a little like the blues brothers only much, much stranger.
Repo Men
Emilio Estevez and Harry Dean Stanton reposses a car with something mysterious locked in the trunk. |

"The Assassin : Bridget Fonda
"
You could just watch the original French film La Femme Nikita, instead of the turdy Hollywood remake effort
Bit of comedy? The Dish
Bit odd? Rumble Fish
Bit stark and moody? Hud (Paul Newman) or No country for old men (Brolin/Badem/Tommy Lee Jones) directed by the Coen Brothers who also did another underground favourite The man who wasn't there (starring the excellent Billy Bob Thornton)
If you just want some WTF? with a little side order of mind blowing- Lars Von Trier is your man- check out Dogville and Mandalay- which both out stark my previous suggestions- stick with them, you'll be immersed after about 15 minutes once you get over the shock of the 'location'
You can thank me later |

Zardos - Sean Connery in a dark post apocalyptic wold Si-Fi.
Last of the Mohicans. Just play the link and you will remember every part of the film! https://youtu.be/42MAk4_DBFc
And need I say anything more than...
"Captain Mt Captain!" and "GOOD Morning VIETNAM!"
And how about Blazing Saddles and Easy Rider for a little social comment on the USA.

There's some great films in here. What would people think about having a semi regular movie night for a casual meet & greet/social?
Renting a space maybe once every two months to start, making a thread so we vote on a film to watch, head to a bar after for a hello, how do you do. |

Sounds a good idea, but where would we hold our film nights? Or are you thinking of doing it in the same way as socials? |

For Whom The Bell Tolls
And what was that lovely film from about 1970, about and young bloke and an old lady who get together after sharing an interest in funerals, When Harry Met Maud?
I'm not sure if that's the exact title, but it was a great film. |

Great suggestions. Know where to look when I want ideas for a rare movie night.
My suggestions:
- Emmanuelle with Sylvia Kristel
- The Philadelphia Story with Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant, & Jimmy Stewart .. Does not get any better than that! |

"Play Misty For Me, with Clint Eastwood"
This is my all time favourite.
Yes it will look dated because of the fashion however it is a monumental moment in history. .. with CE directing it as well as staring and marking the start of the "bunny boiler" ideas
Amazing movie!
