Because it's seen as sycophantic and insincere. Guys compliment ladies alllll the time in an effort to flatter them and gain their attention, it's a means to an end and it's not meant. If you want to stand out then say something original and thoughtful

I probably wouldn't reply to a message that was only a compliment. I'm not rude, but I need more than that to get my attention. I'd look at the profile tho and make my decision to reply on that too |

Sadly yes, especially if they say something like 'you're stunning' when your face is not showing, and particularly because the best way to avoid a petulant comeback to a rejection is to delete first messages.
But if someone gives me what sounds like a genuine compliment based on my profile I always try and thank them even if they are not what I am looking for.
And sometimes if they are totally OTT I do too, just in case lol!  |

Read the fab guidelines. Not respnding is not classed as rude, its a way to tell you the person isn't interested. Aren't we allowed some fun on here? Or are we just supposed to be admin? |

How many messages do you think single woman get on a day to day basis; if they are online and have pics to fab? What makes your compliment different from the 100's they get each week? How much effort should they put into replying.

Try to pick up any points they state in their profile and build upon them, maybe an amusing play on words using their profile name or even just comment on their status..
Appreciate that the ladies here are bombarded with hundreds of messages so message of compliment may be sincere but just drift into to background chaff and guff they are subject to off all the guys.

Yes we agree with this when we receive a compliment on our profile,they really mean our pics as they clearly haven't read our profile,we say thanks then between us guess how it will be before the fancy a meet message |

I don't reply to them as if I do saying thanks but not meeting then I get the "I wasn't saying we should" but if I just say thank you then it has been presumed that I'm interested and want to chat more with them, when I don't. |

You go out of your way? You make it sound like browsing fabs profiles is hard work Not being rude should be a basic requirement, not something that deserves reward.
When I get compliments on my pics or physical attributes alone I visit the sender's profile and fab their pics if I see something I like, if I read something that resonates I might right back to thank them and/or comment on what I've seen/read. If I don't see anything that appeals or amuses me I just delete. I may appreciate you telling me my ass/tits/webbed toes look great but it really does not make a good conversation opener by itself. |
