The US have now made a martyr. So now not only will the serpent grow another head or two but radical Muslims all over the world will make it their mission to avenge his death.

IMHO better he got killed on site rather than got taken back to the USA for a long protracted trial at the end of which, when found guilty, a death penalty would have made him more of a martyr

Think you'll find its only 10 years. But what's a year amongst friends lol

Will it create peace or will it just stir up another hornets nest???

while its good news not sure if it will have any impact, he was just one man, and the thing i fear is that now hes dead the yanks might relax their war on terror

Yes it is good news but there will be repercussions and there will be plenty more ready and willing to take his place.

The war on terror is not over .

just as a correction.. this year will be the 10th anniversary...

as someone who lost 6 bloody good friends on 9/11 I am not sure how to feel this morning.... stunned, a sense of justice, a sense of relief that they got him....

I suppose at this point he was a figurehead... but I am a bit wary of what response will come about now.....

Lets see if the muslim council of britain makes a positive statement of support for his death or just lets the radical muslims run riot as usual

"Lets see if the muslim council of britain makes a positive statement of support for his death or just lets the radical muslims run riot as usual "

see it is this type of reaction that I am really really wary of....

to give them their credit, the Muslim Council of great britain have always condemed violance... be that 9/11, 7/7, the madrid bombings, the bali bombings

the interesting thing for me is that they buried him at sea, which is a super smart move.... no country would have wanted that type of memorial on there doorstep

you think they have to have proof, be that pictures they haven't released yet, and DNA to say it was him before any president would make that type of announcement.....

actually... if it was political they it would have been done much nearer an election date, it smashes any republican thoughts of going after him on the strength of being soft on terrorism

Echo echo echo

I've always thought even as such a massive act against man kind it was quite clever. No bombs just some people who wanted to give their lives for what they believed in. Hope it never happens again.

We have no body, no proof, no nothing and it's frightening how America is reacting.

If they had brought Osama to trial for the 9/11 murders all the information re his organising and funding of the attack would have had to come out in open court. I suspect that because he was assassinated by the US rather than brought to trial all this information will be kept under wraps. This in turn will fan the conspiracy flames and give radical Muslims further impetus in their drive to make the world a Muslim state. A trial would also have gone a long way to prove that Osama was responsible for the attack but at the moment and now for the foreseeable future all we have is the word of politicians that Osama was responsible.

Burial at sea? No trial? Perfect timing or coincidence?

Echoes of WMD perhaps....

I believe this could open a big can of worms.. conspiracies of his identity,, no trial.. we only have what the USA have put forward.

The world has started to turn on their leaders , when the tyrants have been removed who or what goverment steps in to their shoes??? thats the worry?

A Secret Hideaway In the caravan of love

Now I lay me down to sleep, one less terrorist this world does keep. With all my heart I give my thanks, to those in uniform regardless of rank. You serve our country and serve it well, with humble hearts your stories tell. So as I rest my weary eyes, while freedom rings our flags still fly. You… give your all, do what you must...with God we live and God we trust.

Well done guys and girls.

This could be so risky for the heights of retaliation

Typical am in America over remembrance of 9/11 and this will make security worse and tension high again, just hope nothin bad happens

I don't, for any second, believe this will have an impact on the amount of money our collective governments spend on "the war on terror".
