If well-educated English people are feeling threatened by the success of half-educated Scots, they should probably be trying a bit harder.
He is just trying to be controversial for the sake of it. Probably has another divorce settlement to pay. |

"I assume there is some context to the comments? "
Well there was to mine, obvs.
I was referring to the first time the English had a good look around at all the potential English candidates and chose a Scotsman to be in charge instead...
As for the OP, I just assumed JC is being an arsenal again

"I have asked the Scotland forum their _iews on John Cleese comment,
what's the Lounges opinion
Racist or just a pure dislike of Scottish People"
Sounds like heady mix of middle class snobbery and racism . The guy moved to Bath from London after saying publicly that London was no longer an English city.
Bit of a Dinosaur snob shithouse is John Cleese |

Well he did say some scottish people, i dont see anything wrong with what he said i think it was quite funny and he is entitled to say what he thinks, people are too sensitive and maybe shouldnt take what he says quite so seriously. |

" people are too sensitive and maybe shouldnt take what he says quite so seriously."
Exactly, some people just look to be offended and then create an imaginary grievance from it, he is a comedian after all. I can remember him being attacked from both sides of the Atlantic when they released The Life Of Brian, I doubt he,ll lose any sleep over this.

I dunno...i don't care.
I neither like or dislike the people of any particular country more than any other. People are people, many are lovely, a few are knob heads wherever you go.
Being a Scottish born greek adopted English living guy sorta puts me in a lot of camps really.
I've no idea what he's said as i don't watch telly, listen to radio, read papers or go on social media much (bar here) but neither do i care what he said.
his voiced opinion carries no more weight with me than that of any other random stranger.

Yes I agree and the new venue is so difficult to get to, not to mention a few deaths this year |
