It's seems to me mobile phone question night in the lounge this evening so I thought I'd add another one
Now don't judge me but I've had iPhones for a few years now and I'm currently using a 5S that is well out of contract now and was thinking about changing it
I like iPhones and they have always served me very well but it's just the cost of the bloody things that is putting me off getting another one
So my question is can anyone recommend a decent but not that expensive phone that is not a iPhone?
I'm with EE paying monthly at the moment so was also thinking of maybe getting it unlocked and making it pay as you go and cutting the cost of my monthly spend and just keep the phone
Any advice would be greatly appreciated |

Swear by Samsungs personally - all depends what you want from it in terms of both the phone itself and minutes/texts/data...I currently have a Samsung A3 with 500 of each that costs me £17/month on EE and more than suits my needs. Phone has a decent enough camera and memory and unlike others I've had in the past the battery is still going strong even close to the end of the 2 year contract.

Definitely the Galaxy S6/S7 range
Far better than the best iPhone! iPhone to me is now a gimmick, £700 for a phone that isn't a match on some others
Plus, Android has the market share now, more apps etc

I have an LGG5 they a relatively cheap so you can get a really good contract deal but when compared with my brothers galaxy S7 and mrs Iphone 6s it blows them both out of the water its crisper quicker and many more functions i couldnt be happier

Sony xperia zx is going to be the best phone on the market when released on the 7the. Best front and rear camera, best integrated software, best design. Overall better than anything else on the market now and for the rest of the year at least. Will be £36.99ish on ee with a free set of sony Bluetooth earphones as a gift.

"I went sim only when ma last contact was up, went and bought a Galaxy S4 for £100, it does more than I need it to, as I generally use ma pc, but it has a good camera "
I'd be a bit wary with the s4. I had one for 2 years, got simple only contract as I lover that phone. 6 weeks into the new contract, phone died. S4 was poorly built. S5 is more reliable n so even better. Samsung learnt a lesson with the s4.
Luckily I used my old phone, HTC wildfire which I had from new. Managed to keep it till Xmas before apps were unusable (ancient android version). Ended up buying a Xperia M4 for £150 brand new. Memory isn't great as Google stopped the ability to transfer apps to memory card, but apart from that, the phone is great. Had it almost a year. May get a newer version next year or go back to Samsung. Really wouldn't bother with an iPhone. They are years behind android... |
