"Not bloody likely
We have other, more insidious and less "get up too sodding early on a Sunday to be disappointed along with 2 million others who apply and fail to get tix" ways.
Good luck tho'!

"I've never ever ever ever ever been to a festival. Never. "
There are loads of small festivals that have good line ups that don't cost the earth! Or go for a day festival like 2Q in derby....1 wristband 6 (more next year) locations with wide range of bands

No, while my resolve to not go to anymore festivals usually wavers every couple of years and I expect to end up at one some point this year it most definitely won't be Glastonbury.
For me personally I've been enough times in the last 25 years and it's not what I want from a festival anymore |

Oh thank you! I'd quite like to try one but it's a bit overwhelming how many there are to choose from haha |

Well Angel, in my honest opinion, there isn't a finer festival anywhere - and I've been to a few in my time; Unfortunately though if you're not already registered, you won't be able to apply. |

Did you manage to get a ticket Bradley?
I didn't even get connected to the Seetickets site on Sunday - let alone get through to the booking page. Fortunately my mate did - so we're in.
How did everyone else get on? |

Its extremely rare i bother standing in front of any of the bigger stages there.
There's way too much to do. I can stand watching some band or other the rest of summer |

Have been before in the past, when it was far easier getting tickets, but still took some planning re when to travel down and getting away early esp with travel back to North East...dos not have same appeal anymore....I quite fancy the WickerMan festival... T in the Park just seemed like a mass p..s up and too much aggression |

the wickerman is no more, jamie gilroy the founder of the festival sadly passed away and it only managed one more year after that and the final curtain has fallen on that event now.
t in the park was indeed one giant piss up, horrible place that it was, but that's not on for 2017 either for various reasons. it's move from balado to strathallan did't help. we may see it back under another guise but not this year. |

While I think commercialized and corporate are potentially fair comments I'm intrigued why you think it's corrupt? |

Can you not just sit at home and buy them on "Get me In" at 20 x the sale price |

In a word. No. Tickets to Glastonbury are non transferable and only available to registered, photo verified applicants. |

Wish all tickets were sold that way, then Ticket master and their affiliated "get me in" would not rip so many off |

"Tickets on sale friday for kasabian and I dint know anyone that likes them "
I have this problem and end up going to so many gigs on my own, even whole weekend festivals.
It's amazing how easy it is to find someone to chat to once you're there. |

"Now we've got a full line up what do folks think? Personally I'm pretty underwhelmed with the headliners but am liking the look of the rest of the weekend...."
We decided not to bother this year after God knows how many years.
Our daughter got tickets but isn't buying them as the lineup is so shite! |

The thought has crossed my mind but I guess it's more about the weekend than the acts for me as a relative festival newbie.
It's a shame you won't be there- I feel you would have been an interesting addition to the event!! |

To many years of going just for the crack because of the ever decreasing quality of the lineup, due to the fact they won't pay the asking rate for bands because they sell it on the back of the BBC exposure/back catalogue sales.
Fuck 'em, they weren't getting our £1500 this year (us, plus 2 of our kids and partners, and assorted grandkids).
We might go again after the fallow year, if I can be bothered by then. I love the festival but it isn't the be all and end all.

Top tips for newbies, most learned from bitter experience!
Don't camp at the bottom of a hill.
Don't camp near the Pyramid Stage.
Check your valuables into the free storage facilities.
Use the toilets in the Kidz Field!
Don't expect to have a spiritual moment at the Stone Circle.
Use the power lines as a guide if you get lost.
Buy a decent trolley.
Take wellies/walking boots AND trainers.
Do your research so you end up near an entrance as close to where you want to camp as possible, the place is fucking huge!
Take wet wipes, lots of wet wipes.
Don't take toilet roll, it's free at the valuables lock-ups.
The best value food is at the Tor Rugby Club place.
Don't spend all weekend in front of the Pyramid/Other stages.
Don't be a chair wanker if you're near the front.
Set your tent up before getting twatted, or at least half up!
Get your wristband put on the opposite wrist to the one that the hand you wipe your arse is on!
Don't get that d*unk that you lose your specs, your phone and a very expensive pair of Oakleys when you get stuck in the mud and fall over...
Get there on the Wednesday, the place is far more fun and chilled out on Wednesday and Thursday before the bands start on the main stages on Friday.
Don't bother queuing for the showers near the Kidz Field, you'll waste half your weekend.
Don't bother showering, full stop...or washing for that matter. Wet wipes and a toothbrush is all you need. |

Bearded Theory (amongst others) is closer, less corporate, a lot smaller and half the price (and the lineup is arguably better this year too!)
If you genuinely have trouble with mobility (rather than a disability), I wouldn't touch Glastonbury with a bargepole! |

"I'm literally crying because i didn't get tickets. "
Don't panic!
The cut off date for people paying off the full amount is the 7th April. For every year I can remember (I've been going since 2008) a resale has occurred later in the month (usually on a Sunday). Keep an close eye on the official Glastonbury Website (and other "e festivals" related ones - lots of tips there) for updates; and when the big day comes, make sure you're well prepared, with good wifi connection and your details, so that WHEN (be positive ha ha) you get through, you can smoothly book your tickets.
I believe that you're allowed to book up to 6 tickets at a time, so if any of your friends are registered and want to go, you can rope them in.
Like you, my friends and I failed to get a ticket in the main sale for the 2011 festival, but we succeeded in the April resale - so keep your chin up. |

"We got through. Ticket club works best for us. teams of 6 all trying for the other 5 team members. Also got c/van tix as well. Happy days
Yep. That's exactly what we do."
Or get a 'friend' like we accidentally acquired a few years ago that ensures we always get tickets.
We do always try to get tickets in the October sale first though, so as not to take the piss!
There will be at least two extra tickets going into the resale this year though, as my daughter and her boyfriend have sacked it off and are going to Benicassim instead! |

The Sheikh is right. Glastonbury is massive - but it's a very special place with an amazing vibe - I've made some lifelong friends there.
If you struggle with mobility, there are many facilities to help you - and the mud isn't half as bad as it used to be!
The Eavis's have kept the corporate aspect to the barest minimum - eg you're permitted to take your own booze anywhere on the site (as long as it's in plastic bottles - it's a dairy farm and obviously broken glass is bad for the poor old cows), and free drinking water is widely available throughout the site too.
Even if you're not a music fan. Glasto is SO much more than just a bunch of bands playing. There are heaps of things to do - so yes, you can safely say that I love the place. |

As a family, we're spread all over the country now, so it's one of the few times we all get together for an extended period of time (apart from middle daughter, who's a teacher and is rarely able to get the time off!) |

nah, i always work.
you can go as early staff, we have guys there who accredit other staff arrivals so get all their shifts done prior to opening...a lot of the build crew are done prior to opening, the site is traffic stewarded prior to opening..that's done externally by ctm amongst other people i think and internally by d.c site services. oxfam are there early too, festaff even staffing, water aid, get in touch with agencies like that and there might be something that would suit.
or there is the old jump over/under bit...my first three times there i may or may not have used this method! but i'm getting old for that now and find working much better. quality campsite, showers, fed and watered, loads of instant workmates. i like it =) |
