Being apart of the swinger community most people on here have a fairly open mind in regard to their sexual relationships.
A few weeks ago though it was mentioned to us that swingers who are also apart of the kinkster lifestyle are often frowned upon.
I would be intrested to know why some kinksters frown upon swinginging and some swingers frown kinksters.
Aren't we all just exploring an alternative lifestyle to the vanilla lifestyle we are supposed to be living.
We share venues, clubs, markets and an openminded attitude to our relationships so why is there such a devide in our communities.
Thoughts? |

The only people i frown upon are those that think the way they do things is somewhat the elite
And godforbid a newbie into bdsm asks a question they get jumped on by the "you should of been born knowing" brigade
Not all people into bdsm are like that but a few on the forums are |

On the whole I am. I do struggle with the whole dom/sub thing but I don't comment negatively about it. I just accept that it is something I don't get, nor will I. Nor should I. |

From what i understand about the differences between the lifestyles (which i admit isnt a great deal at the minute) swinging is about exploring nsa sexual encounters with a variety of people, sharing thes moments with others. Whereas the bdsm (from what i understand) is about the connection between people. imo there needs to be a strong connection to progress to some of the activities that are engaged in, and trust is essential part of the scene. And from my perception its not necessarily a physicall sexual relationship rather than mental and emotional |

I'm constantly surprised by how judgemental some people can be in here when posting in forums. I've seen people torn apart or ridiculed for asking or suggesting things. Or worse still people hijacking threads with clique jokes. |

I have seen that in both communities unfortunately and have to say everyone has has to start somewhere and not everyone starts at tbe same age as everyone else.
All journeys in any alternative lifestyle are as individual and as the person taking it.
In the most part I have people to be fairly patient and supportive though. |

Thats as good a description as any of an kinky relationship where there is a dominant and submisive.
However sharing a partner can still very much form a big part of their lifestyle. |

I would say that I am open minded.
Some things I don't 'get' or am not into. It doesn't mean I'm not open minded, I just don't like those things.
In my opinion, people can do what they like, as long as it isn't at the expense of other people. |

Just the impression ive got so far, im not saying they dont share partners, more that it seems to be the relationship between the 2 people more than anything else |

Out of respect for you not wanting to discuss its content I wont ask what it was that you read. We all share a responsibility of warning people about graphic content.
I also say though that if its not illegal and both parties consent good luck to them. |

Your not wrong. Often there needs to be huge amounts of trust between partners.
Especially when engaging in certain activities. In a group play situation it can be reassuring to know you have someone so trusted supvervising you. |

I'm not a kinkster or a swinger, I'm just a person who uses the site to their own ends, and it works well for me.
I don't think I am particularly open minded, I've got quite traditional _iews about a lot of things and can be pretty judgemental. What I will do though, for the most part, is keep those thoughts to myself. |

Interesting discussion and very topical for me
I was at an event on Saturday where it was a swingers club but it was a bdsm event.
It was strange as there was play that was erotic and sexual 2 example one girl tied up and tease sexually, another one who was getting fingered by another girl whilst being watched by others
Now when speaking to other people playing they said they don't swap or like being watched as sex is something between themselves as a couple but they were demonstrating sexual practices
*confused*
So what I took from that is that there are kinksters who swing, and swingers who kink just as kinksters who don't swing, and swingers who don't kink
I personally think swinging and bdsm are both kink in their own way, I fall in to the bracket of will sometimes kink but only when mood takes me but will swing with multiple people |

I've found much more judgement here than in the bdsm community if I'm honest, I'm new to BDSM and I've found so many people are happy to talk about the scene and give you literature to help you explore, so on the whole I keep my kinks for one-one bdsm meets and my ordinary group meets 3 or moresomes for here with Paul now. |

I'm having a problem with the word Kinksters and Fetishes........
I don't want a dictionary definition. I know what they are.
The way I see it once you accept a certain practise..... it's no longer kinky but the norm. Isn't it ?
When people get tired of one thing they try another or return to something they had before.
I just don't accept some of the things that people talk about openly. Simply because they assume that anything goes as long as they are into it.
Really ......... it doesn't. |

I have a foot in both the swinger and kinkster camp without really being either. I am just me and understand my own sexual peccadilloes. It doesn't mean I don't accept that there are others that may be horrified by them, just as I am horrified by some other people have. What I don't do is choose to express that horror; especially if it's something that is sane, consensual and legal. When I first started posting on the forums I was slightly taken aback by how judgemental people on here could be. But I do think it has improved slightly in that respect. |

I was left perplexed when someone said here, swinging was only for couples! Seriously?
People treat single people, like leprosy! Which isn't cool!
I just want to enjoy myself and do the stuff ,I truly enjoy!
But in here one false move! You will be crucified!I know some people put off, just with profile picture! But hey is their profile, they do as they please!
Anyway strangers will not affect me or make me feel bad! I just carry-on as usual! |

Most people think they're above average for so many things that it becomes statistically impossible to be true.
We're somewhat open minded and very much a product of the times and our culture, as a whole.
Groups tend to favour themselves and be somewhat dismissive of others - I think the fact that these two groups are sexual in nature is secondary to that key principle.
See how much same sex activity occurs on every night at swinging clubs and you'll reveal the nature of sexual open-mindedness in the established swinging world. |

I'm a lifestyle BDSM-er and I've often found myself looked down on by swingers for doing kink, and kinksters for swinging.
I do both committed and casual BDSM with people I know well and people I barely know at all. |

personally I'm intrigued by sub Dom relationships but when it comes to spanking and punishment I don't think I could meter it out as I do know my own strength and can hit as hard as someone twice my size as I'm a trained martial artist and would always have that nagging doubt have I gone to far so for me it will be a fascination that I will probably never embrace |

'Normal' sex (i.e. without BDSM/kink) is boring to me. I don't really do it anymore (other than with a very small handful of very special individuals).
It's a bit like... if you only ever ate rice and vegetables all your life. Some people would be ok with that. You can have all different kinds of vegetables with your rice, and you could eat a different combo every day of the year if you tried hard. But someone once made me rice, vegetables and sauce. And it turned out, that I could cope with eating the rice and vegetables without sauce once in a while (when someone I liked alot made it for me) but what I really enjoyed was the sauce and I wanted it every time. Sometimes I even just have the vegetables and sauce without the rice at all! |

I think it is impossible to define a kinkster.
There are so many different ways people play that 1 kinkster will have no similarities whatsoever to another kinkster.
For example we have met people that play by
Pretending to horses and pulling a cart with their partners as a jockey
People who like to treated like a pet at home and curl up at their masters feet
People who enjoy total lifestyle control and financial domination, these people can Litterally be told how to dress and what to eat.
People who like the feel of leather, lace and latex.
People who like to live as furniture at home.
People who enjoy corporal punishment, confinement and verbal humiliation.
There are so many more and kinksters could be all of those things, none of them or something completely different. |

There are so many more and kinksters could be all of those things, none of them or something completely different.
looking at that list, I am not open minded, but I wouldn't post negatively about it. I just don't get it.
I don't get those either, but I'm definitely an kinkster;)
And yes, negative feelings about things should be kept to yourself in general.
PS- what is normal sex?? Under the covers, missionary with the lights off?"
Normal sex with the lights on or off or a dimly lit room, really doesnt matter only sometimes you need to see what youre doing. Missionary position is very pleasurable for me and sometimes the man im with too, then again if youre not with the right person it aint gonna be good whatever position youre in. |

"I'm not a kinkster or a swinger, I'm just a person who uses the site to their own ends, and it works well for me.
I don't think I am particularly open minded, I've got quite traditional _iews about a lot of things and can be pretty judgemental. What I will do though, for the most part, is keep those thoughts to myself. "

I just don't accept some of the things that people talk about openly. Simply because they assume that anything goes as long as they are into it.
Really ......... it doesn't. "
the more common ones seem to be where people are in a public space, a place of worship etc and 'heaven forbid' that other's may not share the same thing and dare to be critical..
the tired old 'its ok no one can see', its hurting no one are a cop out and an only serve to highlight the arrogance and fuck you Jack that some have..
for some personal responsibility is often only about satisfying their own needs..

"Wtf is a kinkster?!
Is that not just someone who enjoys singing 'Waterloo sunset'?
Urban dictionary defines
"one who enjoys and participates regularly in "kinky" sexual activities. A person who is very kinky, or has many fetishes"
Being Kinky has so many different variety's.

Exactly no two people have the exact same kinks. |

Judgemental pricks in all walks of life, everywhere around us. Swinging and the bdsm community are no different. Some are more open minded than others, some are more Judgemental than others. It's not really any different to anything else when you sit down and compare it to other walks of life. |

Yes maybe but if youre having sex with different men then its going to be more interesting anyway, and if youre lucky you can have a fantastic sex life with the same partner. "
I have sex with lots of different men, women, and even other genders. I still find non-BDSM sex boring. |
