Is 17mb quick enoght for me to be able to use fab/facefuck and watch Netflix on my phone. It's Netflix that's using all my data.

17 mb will be plenty for browsing and netflix but don't forget on top of the cost of BB you'll need to pay line rental too, Sky is £17.99 if i remember rightly. Vodafone are offering fibre for £22 / month with no line rental but their coverage is very limited.

Need one for the best packages though imo. I hardly use my mine though and it's very alarming when it rings! No-one in the house wants to answer it

Go on uswitch to find the best deal, I just checked via my location I can get free bb for a year plus a £100 prepaid mastercard for the cost of just the line rental on sky (£17.40).

17mb is good enough for streaming but it'll be up to 17mb so make sure its a good standard in your area as this varies.

The only one that does no phone line is Virgin.

Most modern devices shouldn't have a problem utilising faster speeds though if you have older computers you'll be paying for speeds you can't use. Having great download speeds can only be gained by having a pc or device capable of receiving them.

I currently have new laptop that gets 300mbs and an older one that gets 65mbs over wi-fi with Virgin.

I got this deal two months ago and so far been pretty happy with it. (apart from when I went to get fuel with the prepaid Mastercard, and it wasn't accepted)!

Varies depending on where you are etc. I was at a friend's house on his WiFi and speed test told me I was getting 5/6mb on his home broadband internet. Testing through my own EE phone network in same place i was getting 27mb on 4g. Though that depends on your internet consumption etc. Netflix etc will eat through it. Fab etc doesn't..... Possibly look for unlimited data on phone network or take the plunge and get broadband. As I said depends on your area and what deal's are available whether that's phone or broadband.

Pah! 20Mbs..... I dream of that. Lucky if I get 2, yes, TWO Mbs on a good day. And in the early evenings I can be lucky to get a connection.

BT have promised fiber broadband at the end of the road...I wont be holding my breath. The penalty of rural living.

Central

As well as the line rental and broadband fee, take into consideration the contract length as well as extra fees - including call charges. Call charges seem higher on most if not all the upstart companies.

If you get 17 download then you'll be fine for streaming etc, assuming that nothing hits congestion elsewhere.

Many of these companies don't have great reputations for service quality and support, so investigate and evaluate well.
