as far as I'm concerned it's still Summer until either Hallowe'en or the first Fireworks display (whichever comes sooner - and yes sometimes the fireworks happen first!) and then is the official start of the Christmas countdown!

Do you mean "82 normal days until you have to worry about starting to think about Christmas shopping"?

I find it makes the whole process far simpler once the choice for Mrs ddc's present is down to either some yellow-sticker mince pies, or a bar of soap that no-one could even bring themselves to buy for their Gran! |
