OK this has nothing to do with Fab or dressing up for pics/meets etc but I've noticed there are a lot of creative peeps on here so I want to pick some brains.

I've got a dance contest next month and I'm struggling for costume ideas. Dancing to Hozier-Take me to Church and it's a burlesque routine. Can't decide whether to go dark and sultry or light and "nakedy" lol

Needs to be something I can actually dance in and get out of fast so no full boned corsets!

Throw some ideas at me please! X

Check out the club noir website. It's a burlesque club that puts on events. They have photos of their performers. That might inspire you

Nuns habit? Loose enough to move in and when removed reveals as much as you want.

Steam punk burlesque style with chromed corset fittings and a strange kind of "utility belt" with various religious icons hanging from it. A minature top hat fascinator and the longest cigarette holder you can find...

....Erm, can men have hit flushes?

Full clergical regalia. Gold. Purple. One of those pointy hats. Chalice as a prop. Or choir robes with one of those neck ruff things. Easy to get off.

Isis wings. They shimmer beautifully under lights, great for a reveal and if you get sticks, waft around nicely too

I'm not familiar with the song, but in keeping with the "church" theme I like the idea of starting as a good, church going girl. Think Dorothy in the wizard of Oz. Pretty Sunday dress, (50s style natch) white knee socks, pigtails, maybe a bonnet. Then nice and devilish underneath, I guess lots of red & black in your corsetry and lace, fishnets under the knee socks, that sort of thing.
