I hate Louis Theroux...I saw the one he did on a brothel in America, and while it may not be everyones cuppa, these girls either enjoyed their job, or did it because they were in debt and needed the money to clear it. Mr Theroux, I felt was just trying to degrade their job. If he didn't like it, why did he do it? |

"Op what was the one in 2000 about
Just Louis following him in his day to day life. It was a series called "When Louis met..."
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_Louis_Met..." now with hindsight that would be very interesting to watch |

" is it a repeat of the first one
No, it's him coming to terms of why he didn't see it. And inter_iewing the victims"
Saw it at the time and from what I rem he did see it and vaguely questioned him on it. As much as he could at the time. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong |

I agree. I think he did see it and asked him but couldn't take it further. |

I found this transcript....
Voiceover: We were nearing the end of our time together, and as we headed back to Leeds, it was clear that Jimmy was pleased about the press coverage of his broken ankle.
But it struck me that his relationship with the press hasn't always been a happy one.
Louis: So, why do you say in inter_iews that you hate children when I've seen you with kids and you clearly enjoy their company and you have a good rapport with them?
Jimmy: Right, obviously I don't hate 'em. That's number one.
Louis: Yeah. So why would you say that then?
Jimmy: Because we live in a very funny world. And it's easier for me, as a single man, to say "I don't like children" because that puts a lot of salacious tabloid people off the hunt.
Louis: Are you basically saying that so tabloids don't, you know, pursue this whole 'Is he/isn't he a paedophile?' line, basically?
Jimmy: Yes, yes, yes. Oh, aye. How do they know whether I am or not? How does anybody know whether I am? Nobody knows whether I am or not. I know I'm not, so I can tell you from experience that the easy way of doing it when they're saying "Oh, you have all them children on Jim'll Fix It", say "Yeah, I hate 'em."
Louis: Yeah. To me that sounds more, sort of, suspicious in a way though, because it seems so implausible.
Jimmy: Well, that's my policy, that's the way it goes. That's what I do. And it's worked a dream.
Pause
Louis: Has it worked?
Jimmy: A dream.
Pause
Louis: Why have you said in inter_iews that you don't have emotions?
Jimmy: Because it's easier. It's easier. You say you've emotions then you've got to explain 'em for two hours.
Jimmy: The truth is I'm very good at masking them. |

The thing is we cant change what happened, there was a thread on here and jimmy saville was mentioned why before things came to light, i will see if i can find it i did read it once afterwards and it was interesting.
I found it hard to understand that soneone could commit those crimes i didnt find it hard that jimmy saville had done it
Although on a much lesser scale i found it harder to accept rolph harris did what he did |

I don't know what's worse, a sick man using power and influence to do unspeakable things to children.
Or the people who knew what he was doing, but kept quiet for the sake of ratings?
I'm quite partial to a bit of bdsm, I'm not famous, but 3 of my friends found out about it at different times, so how can no one have known, how can people TV executive's and the like, not have known, its their job to know |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I'm not sure if Theroux has made this to deal with his own unanswered questions, to give air time to some of the victims or because it will cause a stir.
I'll record it but it's not on my watch list for tonight.

Saville's depravities have been uncovered.
I suppose the question is...
Why did Theroux decide to make this documentary now? What is he hoping to add to the sense of national outrage?
He does a very good line in wide-eyed innocence but he has a mind like a steel trap.

Just wait till you hear what Sooty was involved in"
I hear he likes men putting their fists up inside him
Anyway - being serious again I agree about Rolf. He was the one that *really* disappointed me (of course they all sickened me) but I didn't think Rolf was like that - more like a cuddly Grandad. Trust noone! |

I imagine Hatter to be a little like that!
Why don't you ask him?

" with hindsight some of savilles behavior was at the least questionable. If it gets people to get an awareness.
I have personal experience of someone whose in prison for histiric crimes, i also know if we knew then what we know know it would of been taken care of at the time and some defineyly wouldnt have suffered |

Loius Theroux is a very clever, almost under the radar sly and very duplicitous guy.
He appears as a bumbling geeky, unassuming friendly guy but is cunning as a fox.
They "his prey" don't realise he is the fox and they are the chicken.
I like watching his documentaries. The celebrities or people he follows let their guard down quickly and he gets under their "warning" radar quickly and we see their true personas.
He is very makeavelian and it does make great (if a little uncomfortable tv) at times.
I will watch this with interest.
Jimmy saVILE was as the name projects, vile really, the establishment knew he was sexually abusing young victims and there are rumours actually attended his private parties were young teenagers were abused

Many years ago, in my late teens, I used to go to the Plaza dance hall on Oxford St, in Manchester, when he was the Manager there.
I am not saying this with the benefit of hindsight.
But, there was always something, a bit odd, something not quite right, about him.
I think sometimes, you get a sixth sense about things.
All my mates, felt the same.
We would not want to have been left alone, in a room with him.
But, not for one moment, could we have thought, he could have been as evil as he was.

It was painful to watch.
I felt that Louis Theroux was looking for personal absolution and an explanation as to why he had been taken in and in a way, provided more cover for Savile. Admittedly, most of the abuse must have already happened by sheer don't of the volume and wide timeframe but it almost came out as an apology.
Hindsight is such a wonderful thing but with the rumours circulating that were even referred to in the 2001 programme, perhaps the chance to provide more airtime to JS may have been ill advised? |

Remember seeing Jimmy's range rover for sale when it all started coming out that he owned around the very late 70's and early 80's..it had a bed in it and a wash basin.... like who the fuck would want that ![](/icons/s/2/eh.gif) |

Not sure what the reasoning was when they decided to commission this, yes it showed that he was an evil and very manipulative and that many suffered in silence for years or were ignored when they did speak out..
maybe it was just a pr job by the beeb to show how he was with some of the people who he fooled for decades and that it was not really their fault he got away with it..
the bit near the end was interesting as it showed him openly talking about what he had gotten away with in the nightclub? Showed just how much he was allowed to get away with but also someone like that would have let the mask of his nice guy act slip and people must have known in positions where it was their responsibility to keep an eye on such things..

You are correct about cunning Theroux and that is why he is taking the piss out of us all by claiming the new show is 'to see how he was taken in by savile'. Theroux 100 % must have known the rumours were more than just rumours ffs he actually worked in the BBC himself and is some kind of journalist, spare us the innocent act louie |

When he was Manager/Dj, at the Plaza in Manchester, he had a Rolls Royce, parked outside minded by 2 bouncers.
Then it disappeared.
I believe, that RollsRoyce, took an injunction out against him.
The car was actually a Wolseley/Humber, or similar, that he got someone to weld a RR bonnet on to.
So even then, he was at it. |

"The more I read about this Savile character the more I'm beginning to think he smelt wrong, what sort of person keeps a single chocolate biscuit on a plate in the fridge?"
I'm actually knotted at that comment x |

For all the people saying they could tell there was something 'wrong' about JS, what would/ could you have done about it? I haven't watched it yet but it's clear that Louis wasn't the only one with a bad feeling about him. But without evidence what could anyone do?
"He just seems dodgy" probably doesn't really work in court. |
