Iceland, but Aldi is closer.. |
Each has their merits,
However b&w photos tend to be more forgiving than colour for overexposure, focus, tonality.. So it is possible to turn a poor colour image into an exceptional monochrome. |

"I like both. I don't think black and white is inherently sexier, but sometimes a pretty blah image pops when it's desaturated. Especially if, like me, you don't have a proper camera."
How did you add the blue eye colour, in your current b&w avatar? I need to learn techniques, I've got so many ideas but not the techy prowess! |

"I like black and white photos but prefer them when they're not all blurry and pixelated like mine "
Thank god for that! I thought my eyesight was going south as well as everything else! |

I blame my phone editing app.. They look alright on my phone's screen but I signed in on my tablet the other day and felt like I was wearing those novelty beer goggles |

I used splash on my phone. It doesn't add colour; it just keeps the colour in the spot you click on and makes the rest black and white. |

I'm pretty crap at taking selfies, so I find filters and cropping etc to be ideal for tidying up my images and making me appear as the presentable, not completely fugly guy I like to think I am! |

I tried that with my eyes ages ago, but apparently my eyes are more grey than blue. I hate them. Yours have a lovely color. |

Oh, mine look different in every photo. Sometimes blue. Sometimes turquoise. Most often bluey-grey. I just got lucky on that shot. |

Not for me. I prefer natural images, moments captured as they were at the time. Not into filters of any kind or anything. |

"If you don't see colour b&w are amazing
Surely if you don't see colour, they're *all* b&w regardless?
Not quite. I don't see red or green light.
"
Ah! I'm with you now. Sorry.

I was fabbing some really nice black & white photos earlier today, they were well thought out as well.
Black & white does add a certain something to a photo, not sure if it the type of photos on here that benefit from b&w effect, but it works very well. |

"Dont like em prefer full colour pics
most are just people trying to look arty and failing"
A little bit harsh i think, to my eyes its not arty, its just sexy.
Perhaps it an age thing, i prefer the black and white " its a wonderful life" to the colour version, ( not in a sexy way obviously) |

"B and w is definitely sexier "
Unfortunately against fab rules which state only the original can be used. Everyone here converts colour back to black and white. Tsk tsk. |

I like a good mixture of all types of pics.. I'm always messing with the filters on mine, mix them up a little, make them look different!
Variety and all that... |

"I like a mix. And phones do a good standard b/w filter making things easier.
B/w or sepia always look nice.
But without colour things get boring quick. "
Love the B&W guitar pic |

Just where I need to be. |
Depends on the picture whether I change it to black and white. I like to see a mix of colours on a profile. All black and white is a bit boring and sometimes hard to see the image as the colour is too dark. If a picture is taken well doesn't matter what colour it is. |

You don't need a proper camera, the cameras on the phones are so good nowadays. |

Black and white. ... I think the subject has to match the black and white. Sometimes black and white shows an intensity that gets list with colour photos.
I hope that made sense.
