There was an hour long programe about meat earlier on bbc one, never really knew thst bacon, sausages, and processed meats were so bad for us,bacon seems to be the worst, yet its part of our english breakfast, and it seems the cheaper chicken is just as good for us as the organic chicken, and the offal of the animal is far better for us than the rest of it,would you give up meat, and what part of the animal wouldnt.you eat. |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I don't eat offal (I don't like it) but I eat most meat.
It's not new information about meat. Every few months there is a story about how bad bacon and other processed meat are for us.
I have had a year of continuing to eat meat but at a reduced level but it doesn't appear to have made any difference to my health. I'll continue with it as my reasons for doing it aren't really health related.

I wouldn't go out of my way to give up meat but I wouldn't cry if i couldn't have it again.
Bacon I'm not a fan of anyhow and don't really eat so I'd give that up no worries.

It all depends on how the bacon is cured the mass produced bacon in supermarkets etc is just injected with salts and water. Dry cured is actually layer to rest in dry salt and turned so the meat absorbs the salts. Just look at the difference in how much water comes out of supermarket bacon...well over 10% of the weight is water that you pay for.. they also inject water into chickens to make them plumper and look better. It's not what good for us and what's not. .it's what tastes best and in moderation. |

A butcher friend of mine was recently prosecuted after using sawdust in his sausages. Apparently the mitigation for his defence was because times were hard and he was finding it difficult to make both ends meat! |

Its hard to take these things seriously..i mean eggs and butter were once bad for for us but now they are not. Obviously processed meats are no way better than something more natural but where do you draw the line? People have lived longer or shorter no matter what they have eaten over the years. Personally I think illness is either hereditary or unfortunate bad luck..but also some things are self inflicted!
Don't think I coild eat tripe though but one thing I coild never give up is eating pu$$y lol |

I used to love my mum's liver and bacon with mash. I went off it when I started cooking it myself and had to cut through the liver. I prepared stuffed hearts too, but couldn't eat them.
I've not eaten a sausage for quite some time now and can't remember the last time I had bacon. I could kill a full English |

We know the cheap and cheerful stuff from the supermarket is crap...but we the public demand cheap and affordable so...
Me, i quite like to bag my own meat sometimes. Nothing quite like a rabbit or bit of game you've killed yourself. Gives you a real connection with your plate |

"I used to love liver until my uncle told me that there's traces of poop in it, is that true? I want to have liver again my grampa cooks it really nice. "
Ah... How our citizens are being failed by the education system!
There are no "traces of poop" in liver.
The biology of that is just.....
no. |

"Life's too short- have a bacon butty
The irony "
Seriously the amount of people I know of that have had healthy lives and diets yet cancer has got them anyway. So have what you want in moderation and live the life you want, be who you want to be |

Mmmmmmmm liver bacon and onions in gravy with mashed potatoes.
OP look up the Gascon paradox.
They eat the most saturated fat but have the lowest rates of heart disease.
It's all about balance though. They eat a lot of fresh fruit and veg too.

"I likes me men like I likes me pork pies: lips, brains, bottoms and balls.

You forgot the secret that gives sausages their flavour, the shitty curly tail
You can tell how many ears they put in by how yellow the fat is that renders off them. That's just the wax |

No worries.
I guess it comes down to the quality of the product.
There's a big difference between a handmade butchers sausage and a 15p savers sausage. Most of the carcinogens and high cholesterol in products come from food that have more connective tissue.
Same with everything else. All the crap is in cheap manufactured fodder.
