"I'm a few episodes in and it's good, but the constant use of the N word is pulling me out of the show and making me uncomfortable. Just hoping they calm that down as we go along "
They don't , why does it bother you? |

I think because the word has negative connotations probably. I know that it's a word that has been reclaimed, but I feel like it's partly being used for shock value.
I understand that it's probably in keeping with the setting, and as a white woman it's not something I'm used to being around, but after sleeping on it I think that if it wasn't that word and say for example, they were using 'cunt' instead, it would still be distracting and uncomfortable.
It's quite grating and I feel like it's pulling me away from the story, if that makes sense. Just distracting. |

I know where your coming from, but I think in episode 2 at the end, I think that kinda explains why the n word is being used |

Yes I get that, and I know Luke doesn't like it. Sadly it doesn't help, I still find it really grating, as I would with that much swearing of any kind. And I work in an environment where fuck is used as punctuation. I just feel it's unnecessary. |

I do a lot of family history if my family in America is 1800 and 1900 and unfortunaly the n word is used as a classification of race. I find that hard, but the reality is that thAt was the case
I think it is similar here where the n word is used a lot by Afro-American, and I think the director wanted to bring the reality of that to the show |

Yeah I don't doubt that, I just don't like it and it slightly spoils it for me. That aside, it's a cracking show. As I'm awake early I've just started episode 6. Netflix are doing great with these shows, looking forward to S2 of Jessica Jones |

I was dissapointed by it...after first few promising episodes it drops off.
didmt enjoy it anywhere near as much as dare devil.
id even put shows like the flash and agents of shield (not netflix shows I know) over it.
im not a huge hip hop lover so I hated the musical score in every episode.
enjoying designated survivor with keifer sutherland only 2 episodes in and the story/plot is amazing.
also west world starts today thats looking decent |

I'm currently half way through and I'm really enjoying it so far. I did (like a previous poster) find the usage of the n word difficult to stomach but I understand the reclamation purposes. The easter eggs are fantastic, I love the homage to blaxploitation and the soundtrack. It's not as strong as Jessica Jones but I feel as a tie in and expanding on the cut too short comics it's taken an interesting route. |

just finished it...
the story line is well done, loved the referrences to the extended marvel universe in it.... iron man, that guy with the hammer and the big green monster and of course hammertech (IM2)
the filler episodes - the ones that dont really progress the story... very much like the ones in JJ and DD...skip to the last 10 mins and you get the main story again.
the constant Daredevil jokes
the one annoyance? it might be Harlem but would daredevil really keep out of a situation like that? Would Jessica jones of kept out with luke needing help?
but i guess the same could be said with that and the rest of the MCU/MTU it seems like there are moments for an awesome guest appearance and it gets let slip by
4 out of 5 for me

"I love my superhero shows, so definitely binging out this weekend. Even looking forward to this."
Started then stopped binge watching this-now on episode 4.
So far, so good, but I keep comparing it (unfavourably) with "Marvel's Daredevil'. I do like the small touches such as mention of 'the incident' and so on, though. |
