My sister was at hospital today and sent a text earlier saying she has Raynards. Never explained what it is and not she is not answering her phone or been in contact so I can't ask her what it is. Does anyone know or have this as I hate using google for medical problems as it's usually all doom and gloom  |

My boss has it in his hands, think its usually the hands it affects. Think its something to do with blood circulation. Its worse when the weather is cold. |

It's poor circulation in the hands and feet mainly..
I've had it for years, in winter my hands turn blue and are cold all year round.. It can get painful, so i wear thermal socks and gloves.
Nothing to worry about unless it's really extreme in which case it's controlled with drugs.

It is not usually a life threatening condition. The extremities such as fingers and toes can become sensitive and painful. It is exacerbated by cold.
It cannot be cured but can be managed very effectively by simple precautions. |

Paul has this in a mild form, his fingers go blue and numb in the winter so he always has to wear gloves and have hand warmers with him when he's outside |

Thanks for the advice everyone. It sounds painful but not life threatening , I was worried when I hadn't a clue what it was x  |

Yes I have it from using power tools all my life. Otherwise known as "vibration white finger"
It causes pain, itching and inflammation in my knuckles and thumb joints.

Non life threatening but annoying ...... and luckily temporary."
Not temporary at all; once you have got it; you have got it.
But It can " come and go"; there are some things, like stress, that can make it worse .
Unless it's a very serious case, it can be drug controlled; and sufferers usually need to make sure they keep hands and feet warm . |

They are; but white finger ( vibration induced injury) can result in what is called "Secondary Raynaud's" or Raynaud's Syndrome, rather than Raynaud's Disease , or " Primary Raynaud's".
Same condition;,but different causes . |

My mum also has Raynaud's and rheumatoid arthritis. |

I have Raynauds Phenomenon...
I was diagnosed when I was in my 20's..
all it means for me is I can get blood loss in my extremities, ie my fingers and toes..the blood can drain from them, often during very cold weather and my fingers especially go white or blue..and the only way to get the blood to circulate again is to shake my hands vigorously.. it can be quite painful |
