I watched The Fault in Our stars last night and never cried at a film so much and don't think I'll ever be happy again.
PS I Love You gets me every time too.
What films create a cry fest for you? |

Silent Running (the music gets me every time)
It's a Wonderful Life
Too many really, I'm terrible at welling up at emotional films. Good call for the one further up about betrayal in a war film. |

"Marley and me...omg!!" When I saw this, it got to the bit where the dog was about to be an ex-dog, you could sense the entire cinema collectively holding its breath and trying not to sob, then my son let out a really loud fart. Talk about kill the moment but it did make pretty much everyone in hearing range burst out laughing.

Used to love Black Beauty, but watched it after my share horse was PTS, it was on the tv the following weekend, made me think of Q as a foal (met him at 20yrs old) cried and cried (don't think it was the actual film) but have refused to watch it since, 8yrs ago.
Marley and Me is also a tear jerker
My Sisters Keeper too. |

"The Lion King, when Muphasa dies and Simba tries to wake him up... gets me every damn time! "
You had to bring that up didn't you.
It's fine, just a little something in my eye |

The end of 'saving private Ryan' the end of 'Shindlers list' and the last hour of 'Return of the King'. I cried like a small child who had dropped their ice cream each time.
Films like 'The fault in our stars' etc just leave me cold. I feel like they're just trying to extract emotions from me and it feels false |

the first film I ever cried over was went I was six , its was the Alamo staring John Wayne.
up until then I thought the good guys always won and the hero's always lived to fight another day .
blame that on things like thunderbirds joe ninety captain scarlet stingray.
I cried for about three hours with my mother trying to explain to me that the good guys don't always win and sometimes ones hero's die .
the last film that made to cry at the end was saving private Ryan
when the character of Ryan stands over the graves of men who died saving his life as a old man and basically says thank you for my life over the grave of tom hanks character .
even thinking about that scene while typing this makes the hairs on my arm stand up and brings a lump to my throat .

The lion king is the only film appropriate for a man to cry at ... oh or that bit in return of the Jedi when the one Ewok tries to wake up his friend after getting blown up... rebel terrorist bastards dragging those poor bears in to a war they had no knowledge of. |
