Nigella on her Figure.

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Domestic goddess Nigella Lawson has a great excuse for not going on a diet.

The 51-year-old author and presenter says she thinks keeping her curvy figure helps her to stay young and worries that losing weight would make her look older.

Nigella told Australian Womans Weekly magazine Of course, I have moments of doubt. All women have times thinking, 'My God, I can't go out, my hips are so big today!'"

But there's a range we are comfortable within and I don't like it when I go above that."

I ve got no desire to go below it. If I lost 40lbs, I would age ten years straightaway. Thats my excuse

But you know women find it very easy to persecute themselves over their weight and whenever I've said, I ought to lose a bit of weight, I can guarantee I'll put it on.

She is so right i look at woman who taken loads of weight off and there skin can hang of there bones .... its fine if you have always been slim .... But for some going to slim dont look good can make them look old . I have a body like hers and am curvy lost weight was alot bigger .... could go down more but i feel happy .

I love nigella I think she is stunning and I think that a lot of that comes from her attitude and the way she puts herself across!

Your body is awesome Jo, but best of all, so is your mind.

That's what's most important.

It's nice to have a great body at your finger-tips but it's no good if there's not a filthy mind to go with it.

And I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that Nigella just looks like a real filthy-minded honey.

She eats more food than her body needs.

As a food guru, guess she is a little embarrassed that she has a few more pounds than the public would like...

Some say she doesn't care what people think of her weight, recent photos suggest otherwise.

I think wearing that full length burkini thing suggests she is actually bothered and more so than she makes out.

I always like the way she comes over though and if she is happy then go for it.

I would love to cook like Nigella and she is stunning. As I said in previous threads if you look at the likes of Marilyn Monroe even Jayne Mansfield both stunningly beautiful and they both had curves that they were proud off.

so if you are less than a size 16 then you are not deemed to be a "REAL" woman??? some of us cannot help being slighter built, does not make us any less real!!!!!!! Can you tell this is a bugbear of mine

Never tasted her food, but looks yummy on the TV

As for her looks,, she appears happy enough and if she wasn't content with the way she appeared then i'm sure like anyone of us,, she would make changes.

I wish I was as confident about my figure - 5f4 and size 16 is not too bad I suppose but I still hanker to be a bit slimmer! But find that it's sooooooooooo much harder to lose weight past the age of 50 Good for ladies like Nigella who are happy with the way they are - maybe I should try that attitude a bit more.

Yes you are a gorgeous real sexy lady was just saying that we dont have to conform to being a size 10. And all the media and magazines with slim being sexy so are curves or am I digging a hole. Take Tina Obrien for example as she is not working and full time mum she has put on a few pounds recently and she is being slated for it. And it makes you wonder why so many girls and boys have hang ups with food.

Its about how you feel in yourself

If your happy with your body then bugger what anyone else thinks i think

Id love to be big and happy but alas im not so i have spend all my life yo yo dieting, working so hard to be something im never going to be, ive lost count of the amount of times ive joining slimming clubs, lost huge amounts of weight, just over 9 stone being my biggest weight loss, only to put some or all of it back on and going back and loosing it again

I envy anyone who can look in a mirror and think

You know what i like me!

no matter what size they are

I adore my wobble its part of me.. I have been skinny before but hated it looked liked I had a water melon stuck on me shoulders.. i.e the head just looking massive a bit like Victoria Beckham..

having recently lost over 5 stone, purely to ease a back pain was totally comfortable in my skin proir to this loss, i have been more worried than ever about my age starting to show

it was always a joke i made when peeps commented on me not looking my age that its was all thanks to cream cakes if i lost the weight i would look twice my age

now i often catch myself checking out my face in the mirror for signs of ageing and spend fortunes on creams and potions to try and stop it

oooo i love my wobble too

i used to envy women with wobbly bums especially as mine was so big n solid but since loosing a bit of weight the skin has loosened n it wobbles like crazy n i love the feeling of it as i walk keep catching myself gazing admiringly at it in shop windows as i walk along

Bottom line is, as far as Nigella is concerned, she has a beautiful face.

Beautiful or very attractive women can get away with being overweight more than their less attractive counterparts.

This may sound strange but it is true.

On the other hand Fern Britton, now that she's lost weight, looks fantastic and knows it, because of that her new found confidence makes her as sexy as f**k!

Real Women bodies change over time, lumps bumps. big bits small bits.

and that is the way I like them.

Real Women , not someone that you can see looks ill beacuse they are trying to lose wieght .

or had "work done"

we are what we are ,

The way I look at it is, that if ppl don't like the way I am / you are , then why should you change to please them.

But what about people who change to please themselves such as the aforementioned Fern Britton.

Not many people improve their looks for others, its mostly to feel better about themselves.

There aren't many people, who if they were totally honest, wouldn't like to wake up tomorrow looking different in some way. R

We are what we are - curvey is really sexy and so is slim, athletic, chubby etc. A "great-looking" person of either sex is not instantly sexy anymore than an average looking person is not sexy. It is ultimately about confidence in yourself and your personality. A sexy smile or wink is soo much more effective than any particular physical attribute, although I am not saying we should not make an effort to look and smell nice

It's all about "attraction". Either we are or aren't attracted.

Albeit in my case i find attrition sometimes works, if only through sympathy.

And yes, i could spend a few hours on, and in, Nigella's figure.
