Hey, I have I done my first one a couple of months ago.

The only tip I can give you is have fun. It's great, everyone helps each other round the obstacles, give a hand where you can and enjoy it.

Oh and when you get to shock therapy, just run.

It's the most fun you can have with (very little) clothes on! Pace yourself and work as a team!

I always thought it was a charity event- take it I'm wrong?

Why not just get a crew and do the team building on the 3 peaks?

I'm gutted this is the last Tough Guy, did the summer one 4 years ago and it's the toughest thing I've ever done. I know a couple of people who did the winter one and it was a particularly cold winter; they were wading through ice in the water sections.

Have a great race

I can't say it was fun but I did get a sense of achievement when I got to the end

I would recommend looking into what channel swimmers use on their bodies to fight the cold as the guys who did the winter one said that the cold was the biggest problem; especially as you can be stood waiting to go on obstacles.

Make sure you get some cross country/fell running shoes as the run zig zags up some hilly bits and it can get a bit slippy

Take the next day off work too as you'll need it, as much for the hangover you'll have after a celebration drink

Upper body strength is the key, you won't be running as much as you think. There's always someone behind you urging you on; which helps especially on the walk along the planks at 20 foot up.

It's also sadly the last ever one

This for definite, trying to pick you're way through slowly is not the approach. Go as fast as you can and don't stop.
