This is inspired from something I read in the comments section of a news article, and is not in production, as far as I'm aware.
Do you think that the BBC could get away it with this as a replacement for GBBO, without Love Productions suing them? Greg Wallace and Mary Berry could host it.

I'm sure they're thinking of a rival production that doesn't infringe any contractual restrictions as we speak
The solution you mention could well work as it's an extension of the Masterchef brand rather than a direct rip off of GBBO  |
