As I cycle quite some distance daily, I've been getting extreme pain in my left toes, the middle three to be specific, underneath, does any other cyclists have this or something similar, if so, is there a fix, cause the past couple of days I've ended up getting off my bike and walking a bit cause the pain has been that extreme. |

Is this a new thing? Have you changed peddles or shoes? |

I agree with get it checked by a doctor.
It could be a stress fracture or an inflammation of the ligaments. Both would mean taking a break from the bike for a while.
Go have it looked at.
Hope you feel better.

8 used to get pain as well I found it was the position of the cleats on my shoes. I was a mountain biker. It may have moved forward too much causing your toes to be too close to the peddle. Only thing I could think of is the post on of your foot on the peddle. |

I have a problem with my toes when I cycle for a distance... my toes go numb and hurt. It's apparently because your extremities don't need the blood and it's going to the muscles that do need it. It's really not nice and I beg to differ... happens to my fingers too... I definitely need my fingers and toes! |

Maybe visit your GP first to check there's nothing broken. Then I'd be looking at shoes, cleat positions, or pedals. After that, have your riding position analysed and corrected if necessary, a lot of injuries come from the stress of being in the wrong position to begin with. |

Try adjusting your cleat so it sits further back on your shoe, as it could be that your almost pedalling on your toes. I had something similar when I failed to set my new cleats up. Good sports insoles can also help
You find most little aches and pains can be sorted with clear set up, it's also worth getting your bike set up for you (£20-40) as you will feel more comfortable and be more efficient |

if your wearing cycling shoes make sure they are 1-1/2 sizes bigger than your normal size, same with any shoes you wear while cycling, it gives your toes room and allows you to wiggle them to keep circulation |

Yeah I'm now wondering if my cleats are too far forward. It's a while since I've had my arse on my bike mind. |

I guess the posistion of the cleats is a little more forward than they need to be, doesn't happen all the time though, but just this week it's gotten worse and only on the left, shoes are a little bigger than my actual size giving my toes room for movement.
I'll make the adjustment and give it another week, if no change, I'll give the doctor a visit. |
