I noticed someone has and no idea why, I must have said something they disagreed with. Do you block people on the forum ?
Seems strange to me when you've never interacted with them.
Are we allowed to discuss it if not mods let me know? |

I think some people just block anyone that they don't fancy or who they don't fit the criteria of. |

I block people based on both my assumption of them and how they react to posts on here...
the forums are a great filter

I can't see the point in blocking people for their forum opinions as you still see their forum posts. I don't bother looking at forumite profiles so no idea if anyone has blocked me.  |

I've blocked 2 on the forums so far today.
People can write any old shit on their profile but when they post on the forums their true personality comes through.
I use it as another kind of filter

I mean if im honest. Pretty pathetic if someone blocks you because they disagree with you. Maybe if they are vulgar then maybe block them. Id only block if one were to harass me even when i show no interest. |

I have in the past if they'd PM'd me and I didn't want them to. Interestingly, my block list this time around is currently empty, but I've spotted at least 5 forum users who've got me blocked |

I block all sorts of people I've never met, for a plethora of reasons. A few forum posts have made me stroll into Block Land. Equally, I'm entirely sure lots of peeps block me. Just one of those things. |

I have, but mainly because I've encountered them in certain threads and our opinions are complete polar opposites, so I block them to avoid any further comfrontation if they decide to take it to private mail |

Think a lot do. It used to bother me to when I'd no idea why but I got over it at the end of the day it's word on a screen so why stress over it it really doesn't matter |

I do if I get a sense that they are a bit of twat, an one off twat could be deemed as the just having a bad day and I'll overlook it but if it's a continued/regular occur acne they aren't the sort of person I'd want to pm me so I block
But at the minute I can't meet so my profiles hidden and everyone's blocked from messaging me |

If they are too far away and we don't match each other's criteria, we do. People have blocked us this way probably as when I've viewed the profile, we are blocked. |

When someone displays really extreme views, I'll block them. It's just another way of filtering out the ones who hold no interest for you. |

No one on my blocked list, happy for people to message their feelings, thoughts and perceived problems they have with me, but certainly have been blocked, three of which I've never messaged the other one I had. |

Don't think of it as being blocked. Think of it as a not interested.
A lot of people seem to use it for that.

I'm never the first to block. I do counter block if I notice someone blocked me. Just as a way to hide my profile if they do a sneaky unblock to peek.
I don't care what reasons they had. It was obviously important to them at the time. |

I've blocked people on the forum because they come across as ginormous cunts and I don't want them to have the opportunity to message if they so chose...I'd like to say it's not personal but in these cases, it definitely is... |

Unless the abuse was excessive I wouldn't block someone.
But I'd assume it's different for men and women due to the nature of repeated messages and follow up abusive messages etc |

I have blocked when people choose to pm me off of a forum post and are abusive because they don't like my views and also if someone comes across as a knob'ead, continually, I will block them, so as not to make the mistake of contacting them, by mistake. |

Cannot mention any names nor contact then about it through the forum or you'll get a warning at best.
Yes i block for many reasons ....quite extensively in fact as the filtering system is inadequate in many ways. |

Not often but I have on a couple of occasions. Usually after they've messaged to warn me off someone or to have a pop.
I/we have been blocked by lots of forumites. *Shrugs* Can't say that I'm too bothered or that it keeps me up at night. |

Nahh, why bother..ain't gonna help me.
I'm useless with names so never remember who's who.. Don't help people changing their profile pics on a daily basis.. So there's no hope of me remembering who I blocked and why..
Thank fuck for the notes... If someone is repeat offender total twat then I add a note to their profile.
As an aside, please have some consideration for us buggers blighted with anomic aphasia and don't change your profile pics so we have a fighting chance of knowing who's who..the only one I put a name to is sexy brain and that's just disturbing!

Absolutely not. I enjoy having my profile used as a weapon against me. I also enjoy it when people send abuse,then block me,then some time later unblock me to abuse me again! It's wonderful, just why would I block someone on the forum? ! |

I've never blocked anyone,I probably been blocked by someone but I tend to keep my thoughts to myself a lot,but if I do say something wrong then I tend to realise that I must suffer from accidental foot in mouth syndrome at the time
I have found if I say something in a forum post like hours later as I don't pay attention in here a lot..I tend to find I'm a thread killer though....go me |

I have done.....and I'm sure it's probably happened to me. If you are not compatible with someone then why not? Where's the harm? You are never likely to want to interact directly anyway.
I've done the same with local people with hideous pics....don't want to see them in my updates.....saves on eye bleach! |

Yes. ..go to top right click options....write a note first why and then return and block. |

If I think I've blocked someone because I think they're an arse and then I realise they're not, I will unblock them but this is very rare.
The majority that I've blocked prove time and time again that my impression of them being a nasty, spiteful, vindictive arsehole was right the first time. |

We haven't & have no idea if we are, though as S doesn't tend to cast a line more than once in any part of the stream I see no reason for it.
But then fish are always free to swim elsewhere in the river so we may come across them again in the future..

Yes i have and i have been blocked too.
To me the forums at times do give an insight on someones thoughts & what they may be like in person which is a lot better than a carfully worded profile.
It may sound petty however i find the forums a better way of seeing how a person is and whether i'd actually get on with them in person.
I wouldn't block someone because we disagree but i would if i got the impression that in person we wouldn't get on at all. |

I never block anyone for their opinion on here; it seems a bit presumptive on my part that they would bother looking at my profile anyway. I may use private notes though if someone really rubs me up the wrong way with their opinions; there may be a few people with "Probably a cunt. Avoid like the plague if they get in touch" type notes appended. But they'll never know, care or find out. Conversely, I've been blocked by loads of people on the forum so I'm probably a cunt. |

I've never blocked anyone...even the ones I feel have been unreasonable to me in the forums....but I guess I would if they hassled me with pm's
Thing is first impressions are often right but not always.
I know I have been randomly blocked by people I would possibly have liked to contact on occasion tho....they might think I'm a cock...but then some people (espesh women) block others as a filter to cut down the huge field.
