I've just bunged a scotch egg in the oven as I fancied one, as you do.
Then I thought how about a scotch egg buttie after all it is technically just sausage n egg |

But which sauce accompanies this butty? Do you do traditional red or brown? Or picnic style and go for a little bit of pickle? Big questions |

"Scotch eggs should be eaten cold.
I've never thought of putting one in a sandwich. Can't see why it wouldn't work."
I prefer the breadcrumbs and sausage meat a bit crispy. |

Love scotch eggs, hot or cold.
Anyone else remember Bakedbean Rounders ? Similar to a scotch egg but without the egg and just bakedbeans in the middle. Loved them when I was a kid |

Fresh from the oven or fryer, hot scotch eggs are a revelation... and PP has gone and made me think a nice tiger roll with a few leaves and I'm leaning towards a bit of piccalilli now I've had a chance to think about it... yum! Craving one now! |

"I don't think I've ever had a hot one. This must be rectified "
Only works properly, IMO, with the home-made type ones with a slightly larger crumb that needs to be toasty and where the egg is runny in the middle. I so wish I could experience it for the first time again. Serious YUM. Give us an update when you've broken your virginity. |
