Have you fed it?

Changed its bum?

Winded it?

Is it teething?

Does it have a stomach ache?

Take them a walk in the pram or a run in the car....you might have to sleep there but it works x

My Own Little World

I used to blow gently on their face when they had worked themselves up to a screaming rage of tiredness. It would break them out of the cycle, tired so cried, got more tired cried harder, exhausted n scream their lungs out. Once they stopped screaming they would be asleep within minutes. Works with hungry babies too, they are screaming so much they don't realise that the bottle is on their lips. Blow, it shocks them into stopping and they find the food.

No offence but it was amazes me how ill equipped babies are for survival in this world. In mean that in the sense that I find it incredible humans didn't become extinct. Baby anacondas literally do not receive any parental care, they are just born and off they go...

Put Pipe Band music on, hold baby in your arms and pace up and down rocking the wee one to sleep. It worked when my dad did it to me and worked on all four of my kids, even worked on my niece.

That would have been better as a cautionary tale..especially if they both turned out to be diabetic alcoholics.

It was The Blue Danube for my youngest - my mum put in on a repeat on a cd for me. My only hour of peace in a day!!

He was 18 months when he eventually slept through & only this last 6 months he's properly slept - he's just turned 10!!

Put the hoover on, the noise will sooth or at least block out the crying

Maybe as a compromise you could drink whiskey and burp in the babies face? Sounds safer than giving the baby whiskey itself.

The ex once handed me daughter in sheer desperation one 3am. 5 pages of "the active directory administration guide" did the trick. She slept on my chest, I slept on the rocking chair. Job done.

"Changed its bum?"

Just the nappy would be better, babies can be very smelly and messy sometimes, but I think going so far as to swap asses is probably excessive.

The best way to stop crying babies is to use contraception.

I'm glad they are asleep now.

I always used to pick mine up before they got into a state. Cuddles cuddles and more cuddles.

I knew a Dr got hold of a recording of the noises in the womb, that seemed to work every time. God knows how, it sounded like being in the boiler room of an old ship.
