I mean my place is only small and it really doesn't take a lot of vacuuming - so I bought one of those cordless upright lightweight vacuum cleaners, which I thought was a good idea.
About as good at vacuuming as a wet paper bag |

"Get a Henry Vacuum cleaner...best one I have ever had."
I have an old industrial Henry. He's ace. Plus when I had a cat she used to like riding around on the top of it as I vacuumed, which amused me no end. |

Its kind of sobering when you find yourself on a site supposedly to help likeminded people meet for sex, and instead find a thread about buyers remorse over a small vacuum cleaner. |

My daughter's cat used to do that on her Henrietta. |

I love our Henry!! A landlord had one in a previous flat and when we moved we bought one for ourselves. Fucking awesome.
Our dogs are absolutely terrified of it, though. They never really liked vacuum cleaners but I think the face pushed them over the edge |

"I had a Henry but I lost custody of it but I have a VAX now and it's very good "
Missed this when I read thread earlier, you lost custody of a vacuum? Christ, they must have had a good solicitor. |

There was a recent story about the robot vacuums,a couple, too tired to walk their dog one night, went to bed only to wake up in a shit covered house! The vacuum had done its programmed work, and so had the dog!! |

"ive been told I can suck cock like a vacuum "
Probably not a compliment if the OP told you that...
On a more serious note, vacuum cleaners are electric and electrical power is measured in watts. Watts = volts * amps; as your ring main is 240v and your vacuum cleaner most likely has a 5 amp fuse that gives you up to 1200 watts of power.
No cordless vacuum is anywhere near that regardless of the battery technology involved... |

Hmmmm!
They can be too damned efficient. Our Henry just swallowed up my favourite pair of knickers.
Gone in a flash. In fact, it was faster than me flashing them myself!
I'm not best pleased...

Years ago on route from job to job my van was literally full and my George was half full and it leaks out if they tip over and so for some reason I can't remember, I buckled him into the passenger seat with his little face facing out.... Meanwhile in north London I was stopped by the popo for a routine traffic stop(i think it was illegal diesel usage)... Anyhow I just remember the coppers face when he looked in my window and thinking he's looking very strange at me.... After a couple of minutes convo he went off and I suddenly noticed by pure chance the hose of my George had unwound and the nozzle was now resting on my leg.... When the copper came back I really was struggling to keep a straight face as I could see him weighing up George buckled up with his nozzle on my leg.... To this day the mental picture of that coppers face still makes me giggle..... |

I bought a Miele and it's the best vacuum cleaner ever
Yes ongoing costs with bags etc but only one that I found that could pick up the fine short black hair from my dog |

I got one of those v6 cordless ones because the missus said the Henry was too heavy for her to use and that's why she never vacuumed.
I found it great to use very effective, the lazy bitch still does not vacuum though |

Dyson died a noisy death after 6 years and was very heavy. Back to old electrolux mondo thats 20 years old but keeps on going and is light enough to carry on stairs.
No more dysons for me design seemed overrated |

Or in my case a clean boat.
Space is a premium, thanks for the suggestions but some not really practical. For what it's worth I have an Electrolux ErgoRapido. |
