Simples really as there are however times more men than women on here the interest tends to be in the lady not the man as they are 10 a penny so to speak - therefore rightly or wrongly it's the lady who gets the attention and messages - if you don't want that just make it clear in your profile that it's usually the man who reads messages or something  |

I wonder that too, when ever we get messages on our couples profile the guy assumes it's just the female chatting, I have to let them know pretty sharpish that it's the male they're chatting to |

Yep always get that . Usually remarks such as "stunning ", gorgeous, beautiful etc. I take great pleasure in responding from a male point of view and saying I am flattered- usually stops them in their tracks |

I suppose it's an easy mistake to make and maybe 50% of the time they will be correct! It's also very easy to let the person know who has messaged you that they are chatting to the male. No real harm done. |

Because usually couples profiles are plastered with pictures of the female, so naturally the guy assumes it's the female they're chatting with.
Also, if the message is "hey, nice pics ' again you'd assume it's the female.
If im contacted with the couple I always ask whom I'm speaking with. |

I would say most couple profile avatars are of the woman. Looking at forum couples it's mainly the woman who posts.
Easy assumption to make on a site where the picture is probably the part of the profile that caught their attention enough to message.

For some reason many couples use a pic of the woman as an avatar. When I read a question seemingly posed by the picture of a woman's face, is the assumption not natural?
(For the same reason I feel uncomfortable talking to a cock Avatar, I mean, who talks to a cock?)

Doesn't make any difference,we make it clear it's mostly me,grey,on.guys tend to ignore what we say and stumble on in their own clumsy way.it works as a good filter for us.the private note facility pays for itself. |

On the forums I often assume it's the female half when the avatar and 90% of the photos are of her. Unless stated otherwise, obviously. |

I never try to assume anything and when speaking to a couple I try to keep it gender neutral for the initial few messages and then simply ask who I'm chatting with, which leads me nicely into - so who am I replying to ?

We tend to write at the end of a message or a forum post who's actually online at the time but we each have access to the account so it could be either of us or both online.
