When people update their status and put "Bored", what sort of response do they expect/get?

I find it negative and a turn-off. Am I missing something?

Correct.

If you're bored you should find someday to entertain yourself. I doubt that many get people responding with 'sorry you're bored - can I come round and fuck you?'

Also relevant to the 'this site is shit' statuses..

"I'm bored, the site's sh*t, all the women/men/couples (delete as appropriate) are fakes and time wasters - what's wrong with my profile and why can't I get a meet?"

That should cover it....
