Timewasters how many strikes?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Since joining up on here I have read and heard so much about timewasters. So far I am yet to encounter what i would call timewasters.

Do people have a number of strikes (sorry for the Americanism) they allow people before blocking them etc.

Me personally it would vary if I arranged a meet and they don't show without contacting me then they can do one, however if they messaged me to cancel I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Too trusting?

If they arranged and didn't turn up or contact: no chances

If they did contact: another chance

No 3 strikes ever. Then it's more fool me.

Twice. There may be a genuine emergency in regards to the first meet. But I would only give them a second chance if they contacted me. A no show would be a report and block.

No show or whatever appeared wrong, such as inconsiderate behaviour would be that one chance only. Decent people with reasonable life circumstances could get another chance.

Future dates would be to a very clear and specific arrangement that would include full communication - if this went wrong, it would be goodbye.

It's once for us as we spend time chatting on kik beforehand. We arrange a time that's suitable for both of us so if they cancel or don't show then that's it

On arranging with new meets, ive never had a no show... If I did, they wouldn't get another chance.

I once met a guy at a pub for a social drink.. We chatted outside for about 15 mins.. He went in to get us a drink.. 15 mins later he hadn't returned. I looked in the pub that was not busy..but he was nowhere to be seen. I guess he had legged it out the other door. That resulted in instant block.

On the other hand...a guy I have been meeting for 2 years suddenly thought it was acceptable to arrange and no turn up...then not log on for a week.. This has happened about 4 times now.. Needless to say I've now washed my hands with him.

saying that weve never had a no show - but one or two have had to cancel more than once before we evenmet them but with good reason we thought and proved right in the end so all good

Two, as I've had to cancel a meet once at the last minute for family reasons so I think you can forgive one cancel. Not if they don't tell you though.

If it's a legit reason then two strikes.

If someone has 'family problems' on the day, disappears for weeks without even telling you, then their ass is gone asap!

Yes that did happen to me. The cheeky cow even tried to add me as a friend again!!

Depends on the circumstances. A no-show is an automatic block, it's only happened once though. If they were to let me know beforehand then I'd give them a second chance. But nothing more.

No shows don't get another chance. Has happened to me once and it won't be happening again.

If someone cancels in advance that's fine, I've had to cancel before too. So they get another shot.

This...although it does depend on the reason for cancellation, and I can usually tell if it's bullshit.

I've only ever had one no-show, and that was from a guy I'd met previously. Luckily he was quickly and easily replaced so no great shakes. He was swiftly reported and blocked

I listen to their excuses. If I decide afterwards they are timewasters i tell them and block. Sometimes it is one fail and out and sometimes they get a second chance.

In my experience there are as many timewasters on here as genuine. Filtering at least reduces the number of no shows.
