Right, it seems I may have buggered up my laptop so looking at new ones. I've only bought Toshiba models up until now, however what ae your opinions on say the Ace or HP models?
What would you recommend?

Odd that. I've had four ACER laptops (2 mine and 2 my daughters) over the last 10 years and they've all been totally reliable and built like tanks!
