Fitbit users I need your help!
My job is mostly desk-based and I have a habit of working through my lunch break which means I'm not particularly active during the day. I'm not really looking to lose weight or improve fitness, but I'm conscious that sitting around all day isn't good for me. Also, my job is quite stressful, and I've recently learnt that I'm low in vitamin d, so getting outdoors for a bit during the day will no doubt help with this too.
I also don't get as much sleep as I should, which no doubt doesn't help with stress levels.
I feel like the fitbit will make me think more about my sleep and activity levels and will encourage me to improve in both areas.
The question is....which do I buy?
Alta - £99.99 - I like the narrower wristband but less keen on the fastening (a bit like press-studs rather that a watch strap)
Charge 2 - £129.99 - this is the latest version and has the heart rate monitor but has a larger screen than the previous Charge HR. Downside for me is the wider strap, but upside is the regular watch-style fastening.
I don't see how useful the heart rate monitor will be to me right now - but perhaps I'm missing an important point? I don't want to buy the Alta and then a few weeks down the line wish I'd got the Charge 2.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.... |

Personally I would go for the Charge.
For the extra money you get a better strap and (I think)more for your money.
Don't worry too much about strap size - it's similar to a normal watch.
I have a Surge because I wanted something with a heart rate monitor and always visible clock and the Blaze doesn't look half as good in reality. The strap is quite wide but even on my wrist it looks fine.
If you go online (eBay / Amazon) there are some good deals to be had.
