Hi fellow fabbers,

I've been noticing lately that quite a few of the ladies id like to get to know socially and possibly intimately live 100 plus miles away, unfortunately in most cases is the deal breaker.

Am I the only one with this problem? Lol

Nope. There are a fair few men and women I'd like to meet that all seem to be waaaay to far away to be practical.

I'll admit am happy to drive upto an hour maybe an hour half but it seems not many ladies in this comfort zone an even less ladies willing to meet half way due to being stood up a number of times

Guess if its possible an if you an the intended person you would like to meet was able to have a long weekend together it would make the travel less of an issue but if it's only for one night or even half a day, I don't feel all that about travelling is worth it because you'll would most likely be somewhat tired from traveling all that distance.

So I guess the long weekend meets are the way forward lol

This is partly why i struggle to meet....nobody is local to me and i don't have a great deal of time for meeting. It just doesn't make sense to spend more time travelling than actually on the meet itself!

it's a 100 plus miles, we're not living in the 18th century were the only means of transportation was a horse and carriage

I want almost met a woman who lived in Portsmouth you also did not have a lot of time for meets, so I had the idea to go down there for a weekend, spend some time with her and with the rest of the time see the sights and enjoy the nightlife. Unfortunately that plan fell through. But I know that play might not work for everyone

100+ can mean anything from 101miles to 450miles lol

Yeah we have more modes of transportation than a horse and cart but it's still time to get to that place and it's not always that easy to put life on hold for a meet.

What happens if you do that and the meet is a disaster?

I dont meet people who live far away and dont expect them to travel for just that reason.

I often despair at the whole distance thing personally.

I regularly get the "If only you were closer" line.

When they say that, I don't bother to explain that I am happy to travel and not put the burden on them.

I've been up and down the length width of this country for play meets, club attendances etc.

If you have that connection with someone, to me distance should stop a potential fun time for both.

Each to their own though

Newcastle

I love visiting new places and have travelled by train rather than long-distance driving on more than one occasion for just a social. I would only arrange a weekend meet if we'd already met and I knew we were both up for it

I totally understand where you're coming from, in my younger days I was always on the motorway travelling here there and everywhere for meets an social parties but I find for me it's not as easy due to my work commitments.

Damn being responsible lol

No but if you don't have a car and only limited funds then that means your catchment area is also limited. Xxx

Pleasuretown

I stay in a small town so some travel is inevitable

I can travel further if I was already popping to down to London. I dont have to worry about accomodation so could fit in a drink & a chat with a Fabster or two

If you don't drive or have limited time 100 miles might as well be 1000.

Some of us also have lives and family. 100 miles isn't feasible when you have a 5/6 hour window for meeting.

Maybe we find it easier to travel as a couple. If it's a blowout it'll be irritating but sure we can keep each other amused.

As a single it would be way more annoying.

Distance stops me. Because of time restrictions.
