not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

Really is such a thing... It's been found for certain intestinal diseases (c-dif) etc that replacing your intestinal contents (poop) with a healthy persons poop that's full of the correct bacteria and micro culture ..can treat these diseases with a great deal of success where normal treatments have failed...

Would you donate your poop ... Would you accept someone else's poop..

Way it's administered tube through your nose down through your tummy into the intestines in liquidised form

Hope you're not eating . .

I've heard of that. I wouldn't think my poop would be suitable but if I had a stomach problem I'd let them treat it the best way possible.

Everyone has c diff it's a bacteria in the gut it only

Becomes a problem if it is woken and turns into a bad bacteria.

They do not fill someone's gut with poo from another person seriously, they use probiotics to encourage the good bacteria.

I got diagnosed with Crohn's disease last year (right laugh)

When it's in meltdown mode id be willing to try almost anything to hit remission again.

I can talk and laugh about it now, but when it was bad it was fucking bad and I don't want to go back there.

So yeah I'd try it

Nottingham

I've seen a couple of documentaries about using faecal matter to treat various illnesses and it does seem to work. The ones i saw though didn't involve ingesting it. They inserted it in a liquid form upwards rather than you swallowing it down.

I'm not sure i could have a treatment like this but if i was suffering badly i would certainly consider it.

The professor on the radio seemed to be pretty clued up... He was a Dutch guy only a very small percentage of poo donors are suitable , they're tested rigourouly to make sure the cultures are suitable it's then frozen at -70c and stored until it's needed for a patient, .. liquidised and given after they've had there own poo removed..

I saw a documentary examining why some people are obese despite not overeating. A woman had a very bad c-diff infection after taking antibiotics. It wouldn't clear up so they performed a 'faecal transplant', the donor being her daughter. The c-diff cleared up immediately, but one of the side effects was huge weight gain. The woman was very slim prior to the transplant and her daughter was morbidly obese.

Yup, it was. I forget what the mechanism was, but the end result was obesity - or not.

We've been doing this with horses for years, foals actually eat their dams droppings to seed their gut.

And probiotics will have documented effects eg acidifying the gut.
