We came off FAB a few months ago due to the number of fakes, scammers and trolls.
Met a few nice genuine couples, although we found clubs to be more appealing to the genuine swingers.
There still seems to be a large number of so called couples without photo verifications or any veries. Should the site set a time limit for couples to prove themselves, surely this would out the scammers . |

The site provides tools to minimise the time wasters and fools,
The issue is men moan about women, women moan about men and that drives me childish reactions and stupid games.

I take responsibility for what I do. This is a free site which is not mandatory to be a member off. The site provides the means to meet like minded people.
In seven years not encountered a time waster, scammed, troll etc. People disagree with me: that's not trolling. I've met unverified members, never had a problem. Even managed to meet my partner here.
It works for me, if it didn't I know where the delete key is.

Different people use the site in different ways...Each to their own and all that. Be more selective with who you message or reply to and use the block function as it's the best tool to out the undesirables.

Sorry OP but I don't agree.
Thus has been raised by people on more than one occasion in the past.
Tightening the rules on verification will not stop fakes or time wasters. Photo verification only verifies that thd profile is what the say it is, for example a couple or a single. It doesn't prove who they are or guarantee that they will meet.

I'm always puzzled by "stuff" like this.
You were here before.
Now you're back.
But the site is terrible.
If you don't like it, use the delete profile button, then you won't have to suffer it's dreadfullness.
It's by far the best site I've been on. It also offers the best value for money.
Although I've not been a member for long, less than 2 years, I've never encountered a fake or a time waster.

Every site attracts fakes unfortunately, short of holding some sort of audition (which could be fun) there isn't a fail safe way to exclude them.. and if more and more stringent rules are put in place then I suspect it would damage the membership numbers.. |

We could all have to go to London, take photo ID and something official with our address on (from within the last 3 months), some photo both pics that can be cut out and laminated on FAB Genuine cards.
We could then show our FAB Genuine cards on our profile or have a purple tick that shows we have one.

There is a way: Become a gold/paid member and only allow gold/paid members to message you. Fakes don't often upgrade. |

I think people came to the conclusion you thought the site was bad because you stated that you left the site because of the trolls etc.
Of course you can give your opinion but so can others. Posting a thread to have people agree with you and validate your position only really works with threads about cake and biscuits (even then *someone* will be along to tell you to have an apple instead).
If you actually want a discussion then sensibly counter what others are saying.

You complained about the site.
You suggested how YOU wanted the site to be run YOUR way. As I said, people run their profile, their way. That's the point and the freedom Fab offers. I think it's a pretty good USP really. That and the verification system.
The sites been running for years quite happily.
If you've been here before, you know what it's like, surely? |

How's about the gold site supporters fee be increased to 30 quid for 30 days, that's a quid a day and I think it's worth it to be honest.
If you supply photo ID ie drivers license or passport it's then reduced to 15 quid for 30 days
If you supply both photo ID or drivers/passport and photo ID of face shot with the paper with writing on
Then you are a higher rated member and your fee is 10 quid for 30 days ?

I think I signed up for one of those, supposedly it's "quite good", but as soon as a site tries to charge me for messaging people, I seem to assume th whole thing is probably a scam and I leave. |

Met a few nice genuine couples, although we found clubs to be more appealing to the genuine swingers.
There still seems to be a large number of so called couples without photo verifications or any veries. Should the site set a time limit for couples to prove themselves, surely this would out the scammers . "

There's a website where anyone can buy an off the peg dating website that already has a database of members.
The site sells the same list to everyone, 10 people buy the site, brand it with their own idea. Now all the sites are linked with the same members.
New people join looking for A and are bombarded by people looking for B C D, X Y and Z.
They're a scam. At least on Fab we have the veri system, so there's a strong chance you're chatting to a real person, looking for the same as you.
And it's all fecking free.... |

You do make a good point that the site is free and therefore maybe we should have realistic expectaions of the site. But I certainly wouldnt give and info such as drivers licence or passport to anyone on the internet.
My own felling is that I dont take anyone without convincing veris and at least a silver site supporter seriously. |

If you see any profiles you feel are suspect report them to Admin. They have the tools to investigate.

Of course you can give your opinion but so can others. Posting a thread to have people agree with you and validate your position only really works with threads about cake and biscuits (even then *someone* will be along to tell you to have an apple instead).

What time limit, say 3 months? You could just avoid profiles with no verifications that had been here more than 3 months.
There are people on here that have many verifications and used to meet but don't now- maybe their wife left them for example. The only way to avoid such people is to do your own sleuthing. |

The site has pretty much no interest in stopping fake profiles. Ultimately the more active accounts the better. That's why there is no POL, no email verification, no IP blocking of profiles that have been removed multiple times. The more active profiles, the higher any potential revenue. |

I have friends who I trust and respect who have nothing but good to say about someone we all know. Someone who hasn't done a single thing to offend me in anyway, who hasn't said anything negative about anyone, in fact a decent person but my spirit doesn't take to her. My own gut feeling says there's something off about her, but no one has a bad word to say about her.

Hence why Google makes tonnes of cash from pay per click advertising.
Anyway I digress.
People Really need to up their filters. Pay out that little bit more, know the right people and get yourself the platinum membership.
You then filter trolls, see others messages and push yourself higher on searches by genuine users.

Being a supporter of the site and getting access to additional benefits is optional. Those supporting the site cover the running and development costs. Things that people 'demand' and kick-off about are done by volunteers (photo approval, for instance).
Theads are limited in length, I believe, to save server space. Yes, threads get repeated but that happens with threads with just two posts on them.

A verification is purely to show people have met. Who cares if its from a previous profile? My first verification was from someone I'd met on another site - does that make our meeting less true?
I will admit I get jaundiced with guys who keep leaving then asking me for a verification when they re-join. I don't mind one or two but there have been guys leaving 4 or 5 times asking. Make up your bloody minds!! |

A verification is purely to show people have met. Who cares if its from a previous profile? My first verification was from someone I'd met on another site - does that make our meeting less true?

Site supporter = upgraded membership. I merely jumped in when Markoh was using sarcasm to a previous poster who hadn't posted anything inaccurate imo. I just think the continued posts are to save face.
As for server limitations, I have no knowledge. I do have knowledge, albeit very limited, about high traffic being beneficial to website owners/administrators.

We had our profile for about 6 months before we really started using it. We now play about once a month and have a great work of friends who we've through Fab. I guess if Fab had closed our profile for not using it at first, we could have started another one.
That being said, we don't really understand why people have so many difficulties with ing out fakes and timewasters. We block unverified profile from messaging us, so to us they are not there. |
