I've been having trouble with an ASBO neighbour for a few months (since she came out of jail) and I was dealing with it ok. Tonight her car was petrol bombed...my car is now melted to shit. Argh!

Sorry just needed to get it out!

Everyone's ok, but my boss is going to be less than impressed. The ASBO neighbour doesn't work. Day of insurance tomorrow! Whoop whoop.

Fingers crossed that will count as a breach of parole n she'll be asscorted straight back to jail.

The local d*unk has been shouting up at his own window again tonight. Thankfully hes harmless but it is rather amusing hearing him asking himself to let him in. Xxx

I doubt it as it was an attack against her. I do actually feel sorry for her tonight. Her car is obviously a write off.

If theres any signs of fire damage generally its an instant write off!

On the bright side you get a new car and hopefully a new neighbour

If I get a new car it will cost me a fortune. The payout will take months and won't cover the finance I have outstanding on my car.

My neighbour is a victim here too, she didn't petrol bomb her own car. I doubt she'll be going anywhere.

No bright side.

If it gets written off it should be pretty quick actually because theres no third party insurance to argue the toss with. If the police find out who did it take them to court for damages and that sorts out the outstanding finance. And even though your neighbour is the victim generally the police relocate parolies that are subjected to extreme violence in an attempt to stop reoffending

The police literally don't give a shit about this as no person was hurt.

And I don't have money to be paying for 2 cars whilst waiting for a payout.

I'm so glad you're confident when you're not in the situation.

Strawberry pop (OP)

There is a chance that you could have a claim for "criminal compensation" as this was a criminal act, check with your local C.A.B office, I hope you get it sorted and am sorry to hear of your predicament, I had my motorbike stolen and burnt out, so understand your pain and situation too.

HUGE HUG and kind thoughts to you xx

I'm pleased for you but my insurer won't give me a courtesy car if the car is unrepairable.

Op. Most insurers will give a courtesy car if it's a write off even for a few days

I do recommend when buying a car on finance people think about gap insurance

Who old was the car ?

Some insurers will replace the vehicle with new if under a year old ( or even 2 years old - where I work)

I used to sell gap insurance so I thought about it. And the car is aged.

I won't have a courtesy car unless the car is assessed as repairable and that will now take 24-48 hours despite being advised this morning that it will be done today.
