Yesterday they were happily chasing about in shorts and tshirts enjoying the weather. Today they are wearing EVERY piece of personalised clothing their parents have bought over the holidays, trudging up to school looking like Scott of the Antarctic while their parents are still in flip flops. Wonder if the teachers are versed in treating heat exhaustion?

I love seeing them go by in their uniforms always to big for them to grow into and they look so smart and grown up.

We all had to go through it. I took great pleasure in my sons moody face this morning as i decked him out in 70quids worth of uniform that will be unwearable in a matter of weeks.

Most English schoolkids these days seem to descend from ethnicities that are used to the heat, they will be okay XD

My Own Little World

Yesterday mine where in school, went back monday.

And the uniform is a nightmare, the school has just changed it and the information they are giving out is confusing and contradictory. Different years wear different colours, some can wear the old uniform some have to wear the new. Teachers tell the kids they must have this, the school office says no it is that instead and the uniform supplier say something totally different. Driving me crazy!

The only time I put any clothing on is to nip to the shop across the road

I'm mixed but majority of blood is African.

I far prefer the cold. Maybe it was me being born here, or my mum and dad, or 3 of 4 grandparents.....hmmmm maybe im even related to that Yoruba wife of the Roman consul who built York? And thats why i like the cold? Or maybe as you suggest i'm actually descended from some ice people like the Inuits or something.

Having said that, I did spend 10 years at boarding school where uniform was more than optional

Mine too, they went in the same as they were wearing at the end of summer term. They looked rather underdressed at the side of everyone else though

Yes: 40+ in summer usually ; but regularly -20 in winter.
