So seeing as how we are going to be working our way into autumn soon, does anyone have any meals or desserts they love to bring out as the nights draw longer, wetter and colder.
For me it is pumpkin and squash soup, and good old bangers and mash with onion gravy and peas. |

Always a good option. Ever been to that place in Leeds Centre, Pieminister I think it's called. On the other hand I just love a good pie from Wilsons or Morrisons |

"I eat the same sort of thing all year round. Am I odd?"
ah I think it's just cause I have recipe books from both sides of my family so I like to bring certain things out at certain points of the year. Nostalgia for the seasons I guess. |

I always forget Pieminister are all over the place now. The original branch in Stoke's Croft is still a favourite eating establishment. Especially now they do lighter pies. |

I love and cook an old recipe called November Casserole. Basically it's liver, kidney, gammon, sausage, onion and carrots in thick unctuous grave made from browning meat then deglazing pan with red wine....worth having to live through an english winter alone. ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Red currant muffins because I have too many so I bake loads. Apples eaten directly off my trees. Blackberry and apple crumble. BBQ corn on the cob, blueberry smoothie, if I could only stop eating them off the bush! caramelised onions baked into fresh bread rolls. I LOVE food! |

I tend to have a few more warmer, more satisfying dishes.
Jacket potato with a nice chilli filling or maybe different types of soups.
Made a marrow soup yesterday. Marrow, potato, carrot, onion. Turned out really tasty. |

We are still mostly having salads, but I made a chicken and vegetable pie with mash and sweet corn this week.
When it gets cold I'll make spicy lentil soup, shepherds pies and stews,a few of times a week, with salad on the other days still. |

About halfway...I do it in a slow cooker..apart from the liquid base..bring that to the boil in a pan before adding..the mushrooms go in near the end. Sometimes add conchigli pasta just before I switch it off.. |

I like pasta in soups. I'm looking for more recipes for the slow cooker so I can make my daughter's dinner in the morning. I'm going to copy your recipe and try it out. Thankyou |
