So I've just watched it, good idea or not?
A quick plot for those who haven't seen it. All crime is legal for 12 hours including murder.....good idea or bad? The idea is to cleanse the city and rid it of enemies. |

they hold no interest for me..the only thing I've watched that's reasonably close was 'the strangers'..guys in masks threatening to kill people.
give me a sci-fi,fantasy or horror anyday.
*actually annoys me that the streaming site I use classes both the purge movies as sci-fi horror..its like saying 28days later is a zombie film. |

Mind numbingly stupid concept for a film.
So all crime is legal????
Well no, you can't kill anyone important like high ranking government officials.
And you can't use any weapon over a certain category.
But there are no emergency services on duty so who is going to stop you????
So all crime is legal but it's not. So someone comes into your house and rapes your baby. You think a sensible human is going to wait until next year to get back. Fuck that anyone who did that would have to watch their backs 365 days of the year.
So all crime is legal, but it's not and why the fuck would 99% of the population just not up sticks on go on holiday for 24 hours to Canada or Mexico where they are reasonable.
In fact why would anyone vote this in as a concept. Generally speaking most humans are so risk averse they can see that the risks that they are going to end up a victim of this law, far outweigh any daft notion of purging the population.
The hunger games had narrative plot flaws, but this film makes Iron Sky look like a solid piece of cinema with a realistic chance of being true.
So is the Purge any good??? Fuck no, WWE is more believable.
At least in fantasy/ Sci fi or fairy tales they both to put in some sustainable back story to take you into that world. |

Hell yes it's a brilliant idea! I'd start at the local Weatherspoons on giro day and work my way to my senior management team's base whilst belting out Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive and wearing a nice latex dress so it's easy cleaning afterwards  |
