"dark pants dark tie - good luck
Sounds like it makes sense. But I'm thinking no tie. Maybe no jacket if warm.
lose the jacket but a tie is smart - "
Tie without a jacket doesn't look right to me. |

Yeah but the STAR method is to explore you against company set capabilities, like customer focus, delivering results ...
Good luck, you will do great |

"Do you know your competition as you seem to know what they will be wearing?
What will panel members be wearing?
"
I do. And panel will be wearing the same grey suits they wear everyday I expect. |

Have you spent enough time on the loo to prepare your examples?
It sounds like you need to make sure your shirt is clean, well ironed and better than you normally wear. The same with the trousers. Clean shoes. Sensible socks. No tie. Good answers.
Good luck.

Black shoes with black trousers. I think a tie might be too much with the nonmatching jacket choice (bold but will work).
Lucky pants and socks though. |

"Dress smart, shave close and smell good .
Best of luck
Sound advice!!
Look smart, be your best and remember they want you to have the job, it will save them a ton of time if you're perfect "
That's true. And I already sort of work for them. |

"Given where you work, generally they are more interested in your capabilities.
Unless you look really Wierd.
Is it a level? "
It's a level up from where I am at the moment. But I'm contracting at the moment. So it's an inter_iew for a level up and a pay cut! yay?! |

You're inter_iewing for the long game then. You'll take it seriously if you want it. If you have any doubts deal with them now so that they don't come across in the inter_iew.

I'm not sure if I'm qualified in any way to comment, that rarely stops me however .
Counter to some other comments I would say a shirt with a tie without a jacket always looks a bit like a teenager appearing in court to me. I'd have a jacket to hand if you have one.
Of course without knowing the role, it's so difficult to say, but in any inter_iew/assessment you are trying to demonstrate your suitability to do the job in how you act, how you look and most importantly what you say.
I always feel most comfortable in a jacket with no tie, but that's the nature of the types of environment I work in. You can always take a jacket off if the room is warm as you walk in.
Most important is to feel comfortable and good about yourself, then the best of you and your capabilities will come across. |

I've never had an inter_iew so can only imagine the nerves and worry...
I've been in the fortunate position of always been offered positions and now have my own business...
Good luck

But you qualify for the pension ( even though the government fucked over the pension scheme .

Good luck! I went from being a contractor to being permanent and am now relocating overseas..
I always dress professionally, just as it's how I feel comfortable, but do wear matching expensive lingerie underneath, just because it makes me feel confident.
You probably know this already, but I always give people the following advice when I'm conducting behavioural inter_iews in that it is then we are interested in hiring, so tell them to concentrate on what they did, not their team. Oh, and if lacking in confidence, imagine yourself to be American.. |

It's funny, because as you described it, it sounded awful, but the picture contradicts this because from what I can see you look pretty sharp. Others have said to lose the tie, I disagree. I like it.
Good luck.
I basically have one suit (navy) and for any job inter_iew outside of agriculture, that's what I'd wear. |

"When will you find out if you were successful?
Next week apparently.
That's a really long wait.
We used to send apprentices to the stores for a long weight "
A bucket of steam? Tartan paint?
I have sent someone to the Post Office for some Government red tape |
