My hair is currently purple, but faded out since I took the pics that are on here, to maintain it I do it every 3-4 weeks, but as it's faded, and I've got a big birthday fast approaching, I'm tempted to change it again. Red doesn't work for me, it goes ginger really quick and doesn't suit me, so thinking pink, but tempted to try blue, any recommendations for colour brands? Currently use the schwarzkopf live xxl.

When I was pink I used the xxl platinum then a directions carnation pink. Add some to your conditioner to keep it bright after washing.

My hair doesn't appreciate being bleached, have you tried the colour strippers before?

Will have a look at those then, the violet xxl has lasted a lot better than the others I've tried in the xxl range.

...the naughty spot.

I take it you pre-lighten/bleach your hair beforehand?

If so buy a pot of directions colour...put half on your pre - lightened hair then mix the other half with a half empty bottle of conditioner...whenever you wash your hair use the mix to condition...keeps the colour vibrant.

doesn't matter which blue you use too much as they tend to wash out quickly unless you built it up over the months (my blue won't even bleach out now).

i thick 'splash' is a good one for first time use, it really does stain everything though so be careful.

i use crazy color now, it's cheaper but i've got the build up so don't need anything stronger. it's like a top up colour.

Yeah it is, the pics don't show just how bright and shiny it looks in person, but that only lasts a couple of weeks before it starts to fade, though the faded colour is still pretty good,I lie to be loud!

I will probably lighten it to change, but don't want to continue to lighten it each time as my hair gets too brittle.x

splash does dye your skin quite strongly, i'd advse covering them or getting some dye remover, and it does dye your scalp also.

but it's the strongest colour out there i've found so it does last after your scalp is clear.

thanks, i can't walk in them yet lol.

I've currently got blue and purple hair

I use manic panic amplified hair colour, it lasts around 3 weeks before it looks faded. I find the blue fades quicker than the purple though! I rub Vaseline on my ears and around my hairline and then if it goes onto the skin it wipes off easier

Bun

Definitely go blue! You can choose from all sorts of colours, from navy/midnight (which looks stunning in sunlight) to greeny mermaid hair, through to sky blue so the choice is yours!

I use directions and always make a mess, and I find it is super vibrant for a couple of weeks, but when it fades its still nice and bright, just not as vivid. Also you dont leave a blue mess behind on your pillows! Good luck!!!

South East Midlands NOT

Adore is the best brand for vivid colours in my opinion. Comes in a while bottle same size as crazy colour-finding stockists can be a chore, but a lot of afro hair shops stock it. It works really well if you mix it in with your shampoo too unlike crazy colour and directions.
