"I am.
Switch Bitch is my favourite, Kiss Kiss and then George's Marvellous Medicine."
I've never read any of his adult stories, I know there's four new short story anthologies of his adult work coming out soon though, they might work their way onto my birthday/Christmas lists though |

"Boy. It was a route to real, but magical world. "
I liked that too, I had the edition with Going Solo in too. Brilliant to see how his childhood shaped what he wrote |

I saw some of them as Tales of the Unexpected first and then when I was old enough to get them out of the library I read them.

Danny, champion of the world
Charlie & the chocolate factor
BFG
Can't believe that people try to compare modern writers such as David Walliams to Dahl. There is a world of difference. |

"I've just finished reading Esio Trot with my daughter, having never read it before.
Wonderful."
They done a film/programme thing on it 2 Christmases ago, it was actually quite good considering some films ruin the original playwright |

Danny the Champion of the world - wanted to go poaching ever since!
Also if you can find it Pig - and don't read it to the kids.
Bought the set for my niece and nephew and it was really hard to give them up!

I originally bought the box set for my nephew. I had to buy another so I could keep one. |

"BFG and The Witches for me.
Although I love all his stories. I have the complete collection of his children's novel, but still working on his adult stories. "
His adult stories can be pretty dark (from the little I've read), hit me totally out of the blue. |

For part of our GCSE English we read one of his adult ones, the lady who murders her hubby with the frozen lamb shank , can't remember what it's called!? |

Not exactly a fair way of voting.... tortoise gets less than 3 mins and then only one min of voting.
Should have been a list up of all to start with.... although I recon the winner will be Danny! |

No, you did exactly the right thing. The gift of chocolate is always welcome but it's temporary. A gift of Roald Dahl lasts forever.

Lamb to the Slaughter. It's such a good title and a really clever story.

I think it depends how old you are. I can remember really liking "Boy" and "Going Solo", but I think I was much older then than when "Danny, Champion of the World" was my favourite book.
I liked "The Twits" and "Georges' Marvellous Medicine" as a kid but I really dislike them as an adult. |
