I've had an inkling of one or two on here who enjoy the metal side of music, but I'm curious just how many of us there are here. Anyone care to the raise the horns of identification? ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

Led Zep... I'd like to suggest a band for you to have a listen to. They're usually instrumental, although the odd song has lyrics. It's similar to Led Zep in that it's rhythm-orientated. Karma to Burn is their name:

"i'm listening to def leppard, not sure if should be embarrassed to post in here really.
mostly i like EDM, zardonic specifically, so i can wipe away the shame with him. maybe.
Why would you be embarrassed about seeing Def Leppard? I saw them when they were supporting Iron Maiden in 1982 ffs
not sure if they're metal really. they're more rock ballad type stuff?
Yeah, they are quite good at that kind of sloppy stuff, but they have done some cracking rock songs as well in the past.
Listen to some of their earlier tunes, before Rik lost his arm
I saw them support Iron Maiden at the Assembly Rooms in Derby in 1981. Absolutely brilliant gigs by both of them
To show my age
Saw maiden support priest " You were just a puppy when I saw AC/DC on the Dirty Deeds tour in '77 then ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Tbh I'm really not sure what constitutes metal as such, cut my teeth on Iron Maiden, the first band I ever saw live, Ozzy, Alice Cooper etc.
These days I'd list among my favourites Muse, Fall out boy, The vaccines, Imagine Dragons, and Bastille and Metallica. All of which I've been lucky enough to see in the last year or so.
And completely from the other side of the spectrum, totally obsessed with Chvrches these days as well. |

More old school (NWOBH, Hard Rock, Glam/Sleaze and some crossover stuff)
Never got the whole Nu-Metal/2nd Wave Rap Metal thing (it killed the scene and segregated it in multiple ways),
And whoever said that Def Leppard was embarrassing needs to be shot. They may have been a bit more "Poppy" than most - but they're still filling arenas opposed to half of the bands out there milking it.
There is only one band that drives me insane and that's Babymetal. Why? |

so many flavours of metal and rock can't stand grunge, thrash, death, black metal, thrash death grunge metal or any of that poncy modern disco dance metal. Trad old school stuff, power metal, symphonic, and any other bits in between that don't involve unintelligible vocals, guitars that only have one chord or sounds like disco music |
