I'm just tending to my lawn although i suspect it's a different sort as I'm using a lawn mower and not wax....unless I've been doing it wrong all these years?. ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

"Never wax, shave everyday over time I've lost any trace of stubble, waxing reacts with my skin xx"
I can't shave, it upsets my skin dreadfully.
I've been getting waxed regularly for a lot of years now. |

Even when they grow wild and jungly?
I'd be tripping over if I left them to their own devices. |

When pressed on the topic, all the alleged fans of the natural bush seem to be on about a bit of fluffy, wispy, soft blonde hair, not my massive black thatch ![](/icons/s/neutral.gif) |

Or when the affected area extends half way down the inner thigh.
Waxing rules...ok. even in warm weather. |

I really don't.
Firstly, mine grow straight, which is why I started getting waxed in the first place.
Secondly, I've been getting waxed regularly for more than 15 years. In that time, the hair has stopped growing in some places altogether. If I try to regrow it, or even just trim it, it looks daft.
Besides, I prefer it waxed smooth, which is what matters to me. My pubic topiary is managed according to what I prefer, not what men on the internet want. |

"Did you know that apparently blonde hair is harder to wax than dark?
The wax can't grip the finer hairs. "
No, apparently the hair is actually tougher to pull out. |

"I've just got home from having my lawn tended and my undies are stuck to my foof!
Waxing in warm weather is a nightmare. It never quite sets and leaves everything sticky!
"
Your therapist should have used lots of talc to prevent that. Mine does, she's ace ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

Talc with hot wax? They usually use oil. |

I quite enjoy a leg wax. I think it's the attention/pampering.
Enjoyed plucking my bits.
Not sure u fancy them waxed. An ex girlfriend had hers done and it was all raw and sore after. Felt very sorry for her. ![](/icons/s/confused.gif) |

Unless you're really moist, in which case the talc will end up like wallpaper paste. "

Tell her to tell you to breathe out when she's about to pull the wax off. It helps me if it's a bit sore.
Try taking some painkillers an hour before your appointment. Don't drink coffee beforehand because apparently that can make it more painful, (I guess it's caffeine in general).
Are you going to someone who uses hot wax or is it done with strips? If it's with strips, find a decent place that uses hot wax. It's far less painful and gives better results.

Find a good beauty therapist who uses hot wax (not wax with fabric strips) and that won't happen.
It can be a little tender but shouldn't be raw afterwards. |

Brazilian looked daft on me, unfortunately, so Hollywood it is.
I'm seriously considering the Sharpie marker idea though! |

"Hot wax.where they just use wax, no strips, is much less uncomfortable than strip wax...essential for intimate areas IMO."
Yes, yes, yes ^this
I've been having Hollywood waxes for over 15 years. I've been to loads of different beauty therapists and tried many different techniques.
A good waxer, using good quality hot wax, is ESSENTIAL for intimate waxing.
Berrins and Peron Rigot are two of the best hot waxes. |

A gun thing?
I've never seen that before.
I've only ever had hot wax applied with a wooden spatula.
It is painful to begin with though but it gets better. It's easier if you have it done regularly, so the hair roots don't have a chance to get strong.
I go every 5-6 weeks.
Maybe, since you're new to it, try another salon. It might be the beautician, the method or the type of wax, or a combination of the 3, aren't ideal for you. |

I've only been twice so will give it a few more times....it took me ages to pluck up the courage,so to find a new one would be difficult lol
The glue gun thing is like a tube of hot wax with a razor head shape applicator |

I've been advised not to do it otherwise its as painful again. I find its not as rough as stubble so I'm sure they won't mind and if they do then tell them to come in a few weeks after you've had it done lol |
