I know this is a bit of an odd question for this site but does anyone know how to get tipex out of school trousers please?! I've tried vanish but to no avail. Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks.

Tippex advise to use Tippex thinners to remove it. However I dont know if it works or its shameless marketeering!!

Try wetting the area then put it in the freezer and allow to freeze it works with chewing gum

On a serious note, if you are sure it is Tippex and not the result of a game of pocket billiards...;)

Try nail varnish remover (test a hidden patch)

White spirit or Tippex thinners...

Good luck.

Thanks for the ideas. I googled!LOL Been a long night so wasn't with it. Tried the white vinegar idea, then nail polish remover. The latter did the job perfectly.

Thanks for the help guys!

Trichloroethane used to work but most things are water based now so look at the bottle to see how old it is and if its solvent or water based. Then like others have said google it and good luck.

Scrape as much as you can off then try white spirit but take it gently and pad off with a cloth.

Petrol - works every time.

Soak the effected area, light a match and stand well back.

Tipex will be removed in a flash - literally

I didn't even know you could still buy Tipex, thought that stuff went off the market with the invention of correction tape followed by the demise of the typwriter - do Kids still write at school with pens etc ?
