how do you blur faces?

Morning all,

A quick question how on earth do you blur face photos out like in many pics on here? I currently just block out Mrs Bs face with a square as shown in profile however it looks a little rubbish..

What app or anything do people use for this? Please dont say photoshop!

The reality, at least for me, is that it is usually the magic select followed by a blur filter in Photoshop.

On Android Blur Touch is free and works, although its ads can be annoying. I just prefer more control and as I have access to better why not use it.

Regardless of what operating system you're on, android or IOS just type in blur app in the App Store and there's plenty to choose from

What about those colour changes where, for example, everything is black and white except underwear are a shocking red? Also, skin retouching, so the haggard wrinkles disappear? Free software options.

My Photoshop days are long over, several pcs ago. And I never really liked Gimp.
