All sorts really. Being a drummer I end up learning obscure songs for various bands and performers I jam with.
A new one I'm learning now is this by Joe Bonamassa:

I'm a sucker for some Lightnin' Hopkins, or Buddy Guy for a more wailing electric blues vibe. If you fancy some contemporary blues, you can't go wrong with Joanne Shaw-Taylor. She's got a bostin set of pipes, and she can't half noodle. On a similarly contemporary (and also female vocal) note, if psychedelic blues- rock floats your auditory boat, you seriously need Blues Pills in your life. And if Blues Pills aren't trippy enough for you, seek out a little bit of Deep Swell. |

It's hard to know where to start.
If you're looking for blues, get a few best of albums, find what you like and explore from there.
I recommend Muddy Waters. Check out the track " Wee Manish Boy"
John Lee Hooker is a must too.
If it's more blues/soul, an easy in and good way to explore is, get any blues brothers album, give it a listen, then track down the original artist of each song.
I found Booker T & The MG's that way. " Green Onions " is a classic! And they were the blues brothers backing band pretty much.
Aretha, cab Galloway, so many great artists to find that way.
If you're stuck for new things, try going on a funk odysey. Start with " Parliament" then "PFunk" and take it from there.
Or just Google Funk and start tracking down the bands.
As a total wild card, I'm going to throw in a track that doesn't fit any of that but, is a total must listen.
Try Glenn Millers " Song of the Volga Boatmen" |

'Ride On' by AC/DC - Yes the kings of rock actually toned things down a touch on their 1976 album Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and came up with this little blues number. Shame they did not do a few more in this style although 'Crabsody in Blue' came close. |

I totally forgot the girls!
Start with Billie Holiday and Nina Simone. Just by themselves, they are a cannon of the best of the blues.
Hope this helps.

If you like Blues music with a Fab flavour try searching for an album on Spotify called "Copulatin' Blues". It contains some very old classics from the likes of Bessie Smith (Do Your Duty/Take Me For A Buggy Ride), Sophie Tucker (He Hadn't Up Till Yesterday) & more old recordings which are wonderful to blast out on a sunny Sunday to horrify the neighbours. Well worth a listen if you like to hear dirty blues music. |

Love blues, I've been brought up on it and know loads of players through my work.
Check out:
Scott Mckown (UK Electro)
Tom Doughty (lap steel player)
Swampcandy (US swamp blues)
Adrian Gautrey (Liverpool based multi-instrumental)
If you've not listened to Blind Faith, you really should too. |

Yeah, sometimes I am in the mood for really heavy rock blues.
Check this track out - I heard it live at the Hideaway about 10 feet from the stage and I was squirming in my seat with such delight I almost came haha!
