justice for the 96
Jump to: Newest in thread
i know its a swinging website and its nothin to do with football, but i just want to say, imagine if your mum, dad, brother, sister, son or daughter went to a football match and never returned.
R.I.P to the 96 that lost their life on the 15th april 1989. JUSTICE FOR THE 96.
YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE. |

Always a sad day. I was there on the day in the Leppings Lane End. The sights, sounds and the knowledge of being unable to help while people were dying only yards away will live with me forever. The people of Sheffield were magnificent that day and I will remember that too.

Ah ok now I see.
What justice do you want? I see the causes and inquiries and can see what was at fault, so I assume "justice" is the reopening of the case as to the police (lack of) control? |

I respectfully suggestn that, given the nature and sentiments expressed above, this is not the appropriate thread to debate the issues. |

6 mins to look up 96 and then have an opinion! What B/S! Why not just jump up and down shouting look at me if your that desperate for attention. Better than showing lack of respect by far. |

The funny thing about Justice.
Imagine the uproar,
And the weight of the law,
If 96 coppers,
Lay dead on the floor.
The law could not stand this,
This terrible day,
The people who caused it,
Would be locked safe away.
The blame would be total,
And the sentence so raw,
The guilty would feel the,
Long arm of the law.
The papers would say things,
Bout’ those brave lads in blue,
How did ‘they’ cause this?
I haven’t a clue.
They were 96 heroes,
And shouldn’t have died,
At least with our Justice,
We’ll avenge their sweet lives.
Justice is needed,
And justice is right,
And justice is the reason,
We won’t give up the fight.
We lost our brothers,
Our Sisters and Dad’s
And our Mother’s and Uncles,
And Friends that we had.
Yet as strange as it seems,
For that terrible day,
The justice we seeked,
Just eroded away.
We never saw Justice,
Like those brave boys in blue,
To me it seems wrong,
Does it to you?

harsh day indeed
though led to better things now and much better set up in stadiums now
lot less troubles in grounds really as season tickets costs a lot - still yep bothers out n around but at least they recognised you cant allow a repeat event like that ever
Though your dreams
Be tossed and blown.
Walk on

unfortunately i recall heysel another liverpool game and another tragedy.
no one weeps for the crushed italians
as football fans we will always remember the crushed faces and the dead on the pitch at both games
heart wrenching and a sore subject but getting fed up of the aniversaries of what a lot of us see as a tradgedy caused by unruly d*unken fans that the police struggled to cope with
rest in peace the innocent |

96 plus the one that was forgotten and only because his life support was turned off after inquest..no matter what no one and i mean no one deserves to die like that. |

They remember Heysel at Liverpool, they have a rememerance service for it.
BUT, Heysel wasn't the 15 th of April, so why it doesn't have Heysel on the thread. |

You should really read the reports which don't blame d*unken fans. |

footage of both events was clearly available to see on both occasions
reports are for those that choose not to see whats in front of their own eyes
we will not mention the last euro final liverpool were in and the genuine fans locked out with genuine tickets that had made the trip only to be robbed of their places by liverpool fans rushing the turnstiles! |

the police fecked up
the design was fecked up
and it happened - if not then and there - it would have happened somewhere else
it changed stadiums for the better and made folks realise we cant have this ever again - because to be fair - no one really thought before it could happen
a mix of several errors in hindsight
but things changed ofr the better and thats all you can do to who lost - is help make it never again
heysel etc way tangent different aspect of footy
all seater open parks now and thanks really to those that were unfortunate to show the dangers of what we used to have

tis purely a post on the loss and the day and the event
heysel etc is a tangent - other incidents a tangent - and can easily be discussed in new threads
hillsborough was a nightmare accident and its simply remembering that
blame - finger pointing - d*unk folk - there was a mass of errors but i think it took that to realise we had a major flaw in our stadiums all over
and now we have open all seaters - which in the event of a nightmare is much better and the whole system and police adopted new methods of crowd control
still today - a major scare or push starts amid 20 to 40 to 60 to even 80 thousand fans - is scary
hillsborough was a mess and the best memory of it is we learned something from it
you cant cage folk in
you cant have a caged system that stops the police releasing gates or pressure
and most that were or even slightly pished would have sobered quite quick in the events - but panicked
people panic
all of this added together - disaster
we learned that - it took deaths to learn it
so simple respect for that

I think you know exactly why the thread was started, but you decided to be provocative in trying to get people to argue with you over the reasons why it happened.
As the day is over now I will shut this before you upset a shed load of people.
