I don't lie about my age but it's very tempting! I don't (think) I look my age. Husband says I could pass for 34. Maybe he means a very ropey 34 who looks 50. I dunno!

Pretty confident that many do... Some people's age next to their face pics are hilarious!!
I'm 35, and I really am 35. I mostly get approached by twentysomethings after a "milf", so it surprises me that it stops at 41? |

Firstly, I agree with your hubby and you are very sexy looking.
I dont lie about my age and i am.a decade older than yourself.
Its the person people want to meet and not their age. So continue as you are and dont worry about the declines in winks, fabs etc. I hope this helps reinstall your self confidence as honestly youre gorgeous and definitely dont look your age.

I have been here since i was 37 and can honestly say I've noticed no difference in the amount of interest i get....if anything i probably get better messages now. But hey, we all have different experiences on here. |

Most people we've met have shaved a few years off their age. It's not been a big deal for us. If it improves their chances of getting a bit of fun then why not? After all fun is what this site all about, as long as nobody gets hurt. |

We didn't but think many do tbh, If we think they are lying we'll pass them by because my man logic says if they put a younger age it means "They" think they look younger & in our outside fab experience of meeting said people (school mums etc.) They are rarely comfortable with their lot in life or in their skins..
So to be avoided,
Looking younger than you are is one thing, knowing it is another and changing your age is something else..
But it does most definitely cost you meets..

Do people really get 'caught out'? It's a very minor lie. I'm not saying lie, but is it really that big deal if people choose to do that. Practically every man we've met has changed their real age on their profile, certainly all those over forty have. We now ask men on the first meet how old they really are, and they tell us. The lie doesn't effect whether we can all have a good time. And they wanted to continue the lie, they could if they wanted - it's not like we're going to ask for ID. |

It probably doesn't help that you are only looking for women and with quite a narrow age range. That's gonna impact the amount of interest....probably more than your age. |

At the other end of the scale I've got my lower limit as 21 because I did have a social with a guy last year who had 19 on his pro but I suspected him to be 17ish. Needless to say it didn't go on to a playdate. Xxx |

The age issue crops up on fab often. Everyone has their own reasons for the ages they will meet, ie same age as kids/parents being a common one.
To me age doesn't matter, it is about the person. They can be young but mature or vice versa. Text speak or a badly written profile would put me off and that comes with all age groups!
I have always been honest with my age on my profile. It does limit the messages you receive or send. Those in their 20's seem to set their limits to 35, despite looking for the 'older man', which anyone above their own age is classified as. It then seems to spring up to 45, then 49, a few at 50. Being 51, my options seem to be limited to those who set their limits to 55 or the default of 18-99. One thing, it does make the pool smaller to fish in, if you'll forgive the analogy.
Of course, these are only my observations for single females and couples. Can't speak about the male half of fab as I don't look at them. But I suspect there are many more 18-99!
