I am not,but I'm getting bored with the same old ingredients.
I want something different that isn't expensive or too fatty.
I've done tuna, chicken, turkey and beans to death. |

"porkpie , boiled egg, steak, pilchards,"
Don't eat pastry, pilchards are too fishy for salad, steak is red meat that I don't eat often. I have boiled eggs sometimes with my salad. |

"Cashews, seeds, French beans, broccoli, beetroot
I get so fed up of the usual lettuce, tomato and cucumber that I try everything to mix it up!
"
Cashews sound nice. I've added fennel, chicory and mange tout for a change. I use a variety of salad ingredients,it's the protein I'm bored with. |

I looked at quinoa,it's quite expensive but a good source of protein. I've been looking at ingredients for dressings too to substitute for mayonnaise. |

"Fresh Mango salsa as an accompaniment can liven up chicken slices in pitta bread too"
I've never liked the idea of fruit with meat. I'll have a go though. I bought wholemeal pittas and they crumbled when I tried to slice them. |

Its actually quite sad - I went to Peru a few years ago and the locals were telling us that quinoa used to be a regular part of their diet, but then it because popular in the US so all of the companies export it so they can sell it for way higher prices abroad. ![](/icons/s/sad.gif) |

I'll have a look at that. I try to stick to fresh food to avoid additives and chemicals used to prolong shelf life. It means a lot of reading packaging and scratching my head. |

Have a look at muscle foods. Hache steaks are great or a good salad with nuts, seeds and biltong as a snack.
Can be so hard to keep it interesting so cold noodle salads with chilli sauce can help too.

I like beans but they take so long to prep. Soak overnight then cook for 90 minutes. |

I did have a look,I don't want big quantities of meat because we don't eat it and my freezer isn't working properly at the moment. Noodles could be an option when I have carbs with my dinner. I haven't heard of hache or biltong. |

one whole large and ripe mango to half-ish a red onion, generous handful of chopped fresh coriander, juice of half a lime and chopped fresh chilli. I never thought I would like fruit in the mix, bit it is really refreshing and tasty! ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

"Grilled haloumi, pomegranate, mint yoghurt, Chipotle paste mixed with sour cream, lime and coriander dressing. All decent additions to a salad."
I like the sound of that. Haloumi is double the calories of chicken breast so I'd have to have less. |

BBQ season.
Great time to do vegetable or chicken kebabs.
Glazed with honey and soy.
Make your own tzatziki with low fat natural yogurt and wholemeal pitta. |

My fave is watercress, easily grown at home and store bought roots easily in water.

I had nasturtiums in my garden and they made my face itch. I'd forgotten about watercress. |

I read that bbq food is bad for you. Something about the charred bits and free radicals. |

Fresh mackerel is lovely too. We normally have fresh but the chef fancied smoked, and she calls the shots.

Well firstly, it's definitely bad for you - it's cooked meat.
Secondly, yeah, bbqing meat creates a chemical reaction making it potentially carcinogenic. |
