Do people think that those who have brought back gold should be honoured with knighthoods etc?
Or should honours be given at the end of an (illustrious) career/putting something back in at the grass-roots level? |

I think that it would be unfair for the current batch of Olympians to miss out as they have been given to other Olympians in the past.
I think the recent trends for making people knights and dames for what could be a one off peaks is a little odd but it's what happens now.

I certainly don't think knighthoods/damehood ( is that the right word) should be given to all. It just dilutes the honours system. Reward them for their success, yes. But not with the highest honour available, reserve that for those who've achieved the greatest feats. |

Not for just medals alone, no.
Honours should be bestowed for long term service, dedication, community service etc., combined with achievement where relevant.
People like Sam Cam's hairdresser for instance.  |
